I honestly think this is a bad idea. I liked having it on Saturday and Sunday. The only real benefit this will have for teams is that it gives them a lot of extra time to try and swing deals after they see how the first round shakes out.

The NFL draft will kick off in primetime for the first time in 2010, it was announced Thursday. The first round of the 2010 NFL Draft will start on Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the second and third rounds on Friday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by Rounds 4-7 on Saturday, April 24 at 10 a.m. ET.

NFL changes draft schedule to start in Thursday prime time and last 3 days

Interesting..

The NFL said Thursday that the first round will begin at 7:30 p.m. EDT on April 22. The second and third rounds will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, with the last four rounds beginning Saturday morning.

"Moving the first round to prime time on Thursday night will make the first round of the draft available to fans on what is typically the most-watched night of television," commissioner Roger Goodell said in a release.

I'm thinking I'll need to take that friday off. Start a 3 day draft weekend thing. Saturday mornings are always rough on the west coast but I'll sacrifice.

There goes the annual Saturday draft party. The NFL has gone and ruined the draft. Lame.

I dont like it at all. I look foward to the "NFL Draft Weekend" and I usually have a party and get all my football buds together or attend a party. Not feeling this at all

I have a busy life. I have a lot to do on weeknights. It will be tough to catch it. Weekends were much easier.

Yeah I've got to definitely throw the BS flag on this one. Drafting on a weeknight... doesn't the NBA do that? .... I can honestly say I don't know anyone close to me that watches the NBA draft...

NFL Draft WEEKEND was right up there amoungst my top sporting events of the year... Draft Thrusday night.... not so much.

I always liked it because it gives me a weekend during the off-season that feels just a little like the regular season with a Saturday and Sunday full of football... (college games saturday, pro sunday)

The fact that I'll have to go to work... essentially DURING the draft (friday) kinda upsets me as I'm sure there will be deals/trades made during the day...

Definitely a big step backward imho.

I'm not really a fan of this idea. NFL Draft weekend is such an event for me, starting it on a Thursday night is a bit of a buzzkill.

A big thumbs down to this. Why do the have to change something that has been working? I know, I know...they want some prime time ratings. :rolleyes2:

Did they ever think when they moved the draft to a Thursday night because its the night where people watch the most TV that those people who watch TV's on Sunday arent going to stop watching their regular Thursday shows and that CBS, NBC, FOX and ABC arent going to move their programming to accomodate the draft?

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Great :rolleyes2:, its bad enough having to work Friday and Saturday, but the time difference is going to be a killer. Will still watch it though.

I thought that with teams only having ten minutes to select, it would be un-necessary to have it over three days.
