who?

Jarvis Williams FORMER Dolphins Player!

Williams, a former Florida player who spent 1988-93 with the Miami Dolphins and finished his NFL career in 1994 with the New York Giants, was running to safety when he was hit in the back, said Mary Justino, the Clay County Sheriff's office spokeswoman.

"He was not the intended victim," Justino said. "He pretty much got hit by a stray bullet."

The 40-year-old Williams was taken to Shands Jacksonville with a collapsed lung after the bullet went into his back, through his lung and lodged in his shoulder, Justino said.

James Poitier had been fighting with two other men in the parking lot when he brandished the weapon and shot Williams, Justino said.

After initially fleeing the scene, Poitier turned himself in later Sunday. He was charged with aggravated assault and was being held Monday at Clay County Jail.

You dont' know who Jarvis Williams is? How long have you been "following" the Dolphins?

He and Louis Oliver were the bomb (I believe their nickname was the B-52's)

if he played from '88 to '93 that was before my time, really. I didn't really start paying attention to player names and stuff till '96. I won't pretend to be a lifelong dolphins fan, as i don't think that is a measure of how good a fan one is. I am one now, and thats all that counts ;)

my dad watched the phins every sunday even in the 80's... i used to watch occasionally but didn't really get into football until later.

You missed out. They were great together. They were teammates at Florida and in Miami.

well i am pissed that i missed out in marino's glory years. I made up for it (somewhat) by getting in on the torrent system and getting a lot of classic games. Watching Marino in his prime is amazing. There really isn't a QB today that can bring the electricity that Marino did.

I didn't memorize everyone's name, but Louis Oliver sounds familiar. Jarvis Williams doesn't. at any rate, i hope he recovers.

my all-time favorite dolphin possesion is an autographed b2 bombers picture - my main man loius oliver and jarvis... hope he's o.k. - i see a b2 bomber sig in my near future...
