Merged 2x: Huizenga sells a piece of the Miami Dolphins

You know some of us up here are Red Sox fans.

Its amazing some people down south still use 19th Century terminology.

I hate the rebel flag. :woot:

No need to get personal. We are after all, Dophans, and all brothers here.

Hey who knows. With all this money that can potentially be invested into the franchise, maybe some more upgrades to the stadium aren't totally out of the question. By upgrades I mean bringing the fans closer to the field now that the Marlins will be playing in their own stadium... Just a little thought I pieced together in my head while studying....

Hey I like the flag you wave, "The Gadsden Flag" It represents the colonies united and American Independence...

But I still hate the rebel flag and the majority of what it represents...

But yes I do love the Dolphins, and that flag we can all always wave!

so cheers!:beer1:

I don't know anything about him but I LOVE the fact that he grew up and is a life long Dolphin fan!!!

oh god.. i hope this doesn't blow something up in our faces.

if it doesn't and it just means another fat wallet to "please us", hopefully he learns from the current regime and hire someone "good" when parcells decides to leave.. but hopefully by then, we'll have our gears grinding again.

*crosses fingers*

I'm glad Huizenga is leaving he let a storied franchise fall apart and now he gets Parcells to care about rebuilding it and he sells half the team so we make a playoff push or maybe a superbowl run and then the wheels come off and we are back to square one. Wayne just wants to be a one hit wonder and get his payday. My only hope is this Ross guy really knows football and wants to be successful for many years because I see Parcells already planning his escape and there goes the neighborhood.

Do you have any valid text concerning the comments you just made? If I remember reading correctly, Huizenga and this Ross guy are both huge Dolphin Fans, which is the primary reason why Ross was let in on the franchise. Don't get me wrong, Huizenga has made some bad personnel decisions, but that has never brought his love for the Fins to question in my eyes. You saw how he was crying the day we beat Baltimore... Stop hating on the guy. We all know that he doesn't know football that well, yet WE ALL SAW HIM BRING IN PARCELLS TO GET THINGS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

from what i hear they have already upgraded the price of tickets and parking. we will never have homefield advantage with a 1-15 type team and paying suberbowl winner prices on things.

Explain to me why a guy who is so passionate about this team and is such a huge Dolphins fan is taking steps to leave when things are finally headed in the right direction. Those are the actions of a sellout.

First of all, the contract is written so huizenga is the controlling partner, so the most will will realistically see of ross is at the games for the immediate future.

Second huizenga is a well respected owner and i think one of the best owners in the league. He understands he has no football knowledge (unlike a certain D.C. character) so he tries to find the best person for the job and leave him to it.

bad moves or not- he has:
1.brought in j. hohnson when he was regarded as one of the brightest coaches in football and a draft guru. Wasn't quite as effective here, but huizenga gave him all the money and support he could.

2. Agreed to have wanndstedt coach after johnson to hopefully continue on a good pace. Obviously not a good move, but huizenga was showing loyalty to what he considered a better football mind (johnson) and gave Wanny years to turn the corner. Unfortunately the corner dead ended at the landfill.

3. Talked to every football mind he could find to find that SABAN was a consenus for being the next belicheat and a football genius. Paid a lot of money and time to recruit him.

4. CAM/RAM- needed offensive coach, needed experienced gm, check. first season check minus

5. brought the Rebuilding tuna in

Whatever you say about the outcome of his decisions, Huizenga has always shown a passion, committment, lots of loyalty, and the willingness to spend whatever it takes to bring in a winning dolphins team.

sellout? age may be a factor. Or a another poster stated, his kids don't want to take over so he is bringing in another investor who not only loves the dolphins, but will have a few years to learn (the good and the bad) from huizenga before he retires.

WOW, Wayne a sellout!! Please how long have you been a fan? This guy has been as good of an owner as you could want. Johnson,Saban,Tuna and went after Carroll. All coaches that this board was asking for. Has opened up his wallet on every occation to provide the best coaches, playing facilities and stadium in the league. HIS OWN MONEY!!
Wayne once said he is a business man and that's what the Marlins and Panthers were, a business. He could loose money on the Dolphins every year and wouldn't sell them because he LOVES this team. Now he is getting older and needs to make sure that someone comes in now and Loves the team in the same way and someone who will keep this team in MIAMI. You would be the first one on here calling him out if he sold us to LA.
