Merged 3x: Miami may still be looking at Larry Johnson.

In exchange for Johnson the Chiefs were seeking a linebacker, wide receiver or a draft pick. The Dolphins said they were still considering making the move for a linebacker, which would be a credit to that franchise for continuing to aggressively work their way out of a hole.

Gordon's a rent-a-back for this year before we get someone in the offseason next year. That's a pretty expensive rent-a-back, 3rd round draft pick.
yea it is, but it was a move we needed to make. It wasnt liek we lost a draft pick though, figure Ogun for Booker and Gordon.

If we didnt make the Gordon trade, with Henry always being injury questionable, Morris out, Minor more of a FB with injuries, and Konrad out, who would our starting RB be?? Doug freakin Eastlik?? lol.

Gordon trade was one we needed to make, even though it seems expensive, Barry Sanders couldnt put up better numbers behind our Oline. We will make a move for a RB next season and prolly kep Gordon as our backup. With our WR corps, you can guarantee we will play a 3 wr set next year because none of these guys can sit on the bench. McMichael wil always be in so figure Konrad is the odd man out. Most teams would trade for him, he is one of the best FB's in the league but hes makin a nice chunk of change.

this would be a horrible trade. seau and ZT are getting older and we need to keep out LB's. Moore/Bua would get more time next year if Seau takes off.

The jury is still out on Moore, I dont think he is a bust yet. We didnt see him much in the offseason and at worse, he is still a good backup.

Only trade I would make would be MAYBE later in the season if we start out 0-5 and our RB's still look horrible.

I dont know what LJ's salary is but maybe trade Seau for him as a salary dump? I wouldnt do it, but its the only thing I can semi-rationalize.

I like having L. Gordon next season and beyond. Yeah the Fins still need another RB. But 1st they need to get a GOOD OLINE w/o that it does not matter who is running the ball.

Hell with this CRAZY OFFSEASON,PRESEASON & SEASON.....Maybe Ricky comes back next year. You never know anymore with MIAMI.

Ricky WILL come back next year because he will be broke. He wont ever wear the fins colors though. We wont give him the contract he wants and I dont think the players would ever welcome him back.

It might even be a good idea to trade a LB. Because Miami is going to need a lot of RB's to get though the whole season with the OLINE. :roflmao:

Injury Report on RB's"
Minor * Morris * Konrad * Gordon

It just sucks to watch other teams having a average back that RUNS to the HOLE. Then watch Miami's RB take a step-STOP and LOOK FOR A HOLE.

Man Jay & AJ both have not had a fair shake at things behind this OLine!
Jay,AJ,Minor,Gordon all are playing behind the NFL's WOREST OLINE!!!! :fire:

Even if Miami had C.C., Boston, & BOOKER......they could not throw a pass!!! YOU NEED MORE THAN 1 SECOND to breakdown a DEFENSE. Hell the other team could tell Miami what D they were going to run and still KILL THE OFFENSE! :yell:

I hear you all the WAY. But with Miami NOW you never know. If the OLINE keeps getting the RB's killed. What FA RB is going to want to come in and play. So Miami would be looking at the DRAFT for a RB....(Wrong....1st 4 picks OL!!!)

Miami might need Ricky more than Ricky needs Miami. So never might not be never in Miami!

I like a James/Gordon 1-2 punch next season.

Larry Johnson is not only overrated and sucks, but he is a Grade A spoiled f'ing a$$hole. Ask any REAL Penn St fan and they'll tell you about his crying their his junior year.

He's worth trading Eddie Moore for... And as for the crying, who really cares... I'd cry, too, if I had to call myself a graduate of Penn State over the past half dozen years...

Are you guys really trying to say that you wouldn't give up an Eddie Moore, or heck even a Morlon Greenwood, to take a shot on Larry Johnson? I'd do it in a heartbeat, even WITH the whining, the overrated-ness etc.

Outch. I guess graduating from the #4 party school in the nation (last year when I graduated), a school with one of the greatest college football coaches in the history of the NCAA, 30+ years of football dominance, with a degree in chemical engineering from a top 10 engineering program in america, is overshadowed by 2 losing football seasons?

riiiiight. LJ may be a baby, but dont take a shot at one of the most prestigious state schools in america.

LoL, moore I would consider, but our starting SLB?? HELL NO! LJ isnt that great of a RB, let ALONE behind our horrible Oline. We already traded a 3rd for Gordon, we just need to ride him this year.

Not Morlon Greenwood, he is a hell of a tackler, and plays excellent versus the run!

Alot of teams draft "backup" rb's around the 3rd rd or higher, for instance McNoKnees 1st rd, Jones-3rd rd (Jax), Lamont Jordan, Tony Hollings, TJ Ducket, Mewelde Moore...Gordon isn't a "rent-a-back" he'll be here next season but I doubt it will be as a starter. Larry Johnson would not be such a horrible pickup if he comes for a backup LB or so, I really doubt KC will trade him, Priest almost did retire at the end of last season I believe. Rick Spielmen can't trade any more draft picks if he wants to build this team.
