John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers) reportedly is seeking a contract that will pay him $10 million per year and he is firm in those demands. The New Orleans Saints are the closest to meeting Brees' demands. The Miami Dolphins aren't offering as much in guarantees as New Orleans, and they seem to have dug in on not doing that with Brees coming off shoulder surgery.

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers) reportedly is seeking a contract that will pay him $10 million per year and he is firm in those demands. The New Orleans Saints are the closest to meeting Brees' demands. The Miami Dolphins aren't offering as much in guarantees as New Orleans, and they seem to have dug in on not doing that with Brees coming off shoulder surgery.

If Drew goes to New Orleans, he gets what he deserves. If he goes there, I will lose all respect for him and hope the worse for him. That would mean he is just a greedy rich peice of poo. If he comes here, it means he wants wins and I will love him lol. It's funny how a uniform can change the way you feel about a guy.

As long as we get Brees or Culpepper, I'm happy. How it works out with the cap is up to the Dolphins & Saban. It may come down to what Saban values more: a very high draft pick or cap space?

With Drew Brees looking for $10 million per year and the Saints closer to his demands the Phins are looking again at a trade for Daunte Culpepper. Problem is is the Vikings won't let Culpepper have a doctor's visit with the Dolphins, only allowing him to talk on the phone.
It's easy to see that Brees is all about the money. Too bad. He and the Aints may deserve each other.

you can blame the Chargers
Brees could make alot of extra money through national commercials based in Miami ala Marino and Dwayne Wade. His marketable exposure in New Orleans won't play outside the bayou. Additionally, Florida has no state income tax. I am not sure if Louisiana does.
I can play for the Dolphins as long as you pay me...

Lifetime Contract
It could be, I really don't see Saban or Mueller overpaying without some guarntee that he is going to be able to earn that much by fully recovering. I don't think Saban is one to jump at a contract like that anyway without weighing all the options of course this is JMO.
