I don't know how much credibility there is to this cowboys trade rumor that has been floating around, but if we can get their 2 first round picks and Marion Barber, we should jump on it. That trade, and possibly landing Chad Johnson, would be some of the best personnel moves I've ever seen from the Dolphins.

But my question is...

If we do make those moves do we have a decent shot a landing any other key free agents? Terrell Suggs, Jordan Gross, Alan Faneca, Ken Hamlin, Marcus Trufant...

Not having to spend an *** load of cash on a number 1 pick should allow us to sign at least another big name player, shouldn't it?

I think Randall Gay coupled with either Gibril Wilson or Ken Hamlin would bolster our secondary significantly.

Jordan Gross is probably too small for the Tuna's taste and is more likely to be re-signed by the Panthers than Travelle Wharton who is a solid LT in his own right. However he too is under the Tuna's description of prototypical linemen.

These guys have not told us much but they have told us very clearly that they liked big linemen and that," we would see what they mean".

Look for big FA linemen on both sides, maybe Flozelle Adams or Corey Williams.

How about Shaun Rodgers, I hear he is getting bigger by the second.

I second that!

Three way trade ?/!?

Dallas gets: #1
Miami gets: #9, Chad johnson, dallas' 2nd round pick
CIncinati gets: #22, #28, Marion Barber

:hi5: that would be awesome

EDIT:

I just converted the trade in points to check out the value:

Dallas: 3000
Miami:1650 + Chad johnson (if we balance the trade to 3000 points each, chad is worth 1350 points= #9 overall, very good deal for us)
Cincinnati: 1440 + Marion Barber (so marion would be worth 6th overall, not realistic)

therefore i think that for the trade to be functionnal, we should let the Cowboys' 2nd rounder to the Bengals, therefore we would get CJ at the #5 pick value and the 9th pick in the draft, and the bengals would agree on the trade since they would get Marion Barber to an estimated #11 overall ... a bit overrated IMO but in the end i think it's a very fair deal ...

we would let go 3000 and the first overall money problems
dallas would let go 1740 and barber
cincinatti would let go 1350 and Johnson

Dallas would get #1
CIncinatti would get #22 #28 #59 marion barber
Miami would get Ocho Cinco and #9

think about it, we would spend about the same amount of money on Chad Johnson+#9 than if we kept #1. The positive side would be to have a GREAT wr on our roster and stilll be able to add a defensive stud in the first (Phillips, Ellis, Rivers, ETc etc) instead of investing in only one guy that potentially cannot make an impact on our team as big as Chad Johson and a #9 pick (defence), it's just impossible
I believe, without a doubt, that it is a great deal

Wow, that is pretty loaded to think about. Did you come up with that yourself. From the 'Phins perspective it's pretty good.

I don't know, does it seem like we are getting short changed here? Doesn't seem like we are getting enough for pick #1.

Which three way trade I might be in the works is one between us, the cowboys and another team. Heres what I think would happen:

Dolphins give up- 1st overall pick and maybe a few other crappy picks/players
Dolphins get- a pick in the 2-16 range, plus either the Cowboys 22nd or 28th pick, plus a 2nd rounder or a teams 1st round pick next year.

Cowboys give up- Marion Barber, 22nd pick, 29th pick, maybe a 2nd &/or thier 1st rounder next season.
Cowboys get- 1st overall, maybe a few other players/picks.

Other team gives up- 1st round pick (probably in the 2-16 pick range) and maybe a 2nd rounder too.
Other team gets- Marion Barber, Cowboys 22nd or 28th pick

It may sound impractical, but it could happen...
