Merged 6x: Nine players released today including Green and M. Booker

Exactly....Marty was never anything better than average in Miami if you ask me, I know its hard for a WR to thrive in that situation, but I can asure you I will not miss him one bit.

Marty would be a decent #2 for a team like KC...

Also this almost guarentee's us picking up a VET Wr...Im partial to R Williams myself but if we can get Walker for nothing than thats fine too.

wishful thinking we could have traded him for a 5th to recoup the green pick..i wouldv'e been happy with a 6th or 7th or packaging him but as you stated it was just a matter of time. goodbye and good riddance to another player that never wanted to be here to begin with.

Is their a link?

Dolphins released WR Marty Booker.
The Dolphins were never going to pay him $4.3 million in 2008. Booker, 31, has slowed down considerably over the past two seasons and averaged only 11.1 YPC in 2007, a personal low since 2001. He'll likely catch on elsewhere, possibly as a slot receiver because his hands are still reliable, but may have to take a deal for close to the veteran minimum.

Why is it that Rotoworld always has breaking NFL news posted long before any other source? It's almost like they are psychic and report stuff before it even happens. ;)

Good. Can we have Ogunleye back as well?

I wish Wanny would have never made that trade to begin with. Ogunleyae opposite JT was great, and Booker never did turn into anything for us. Glad we cut our ties and are moving on.

The Miami Dolphins today terminated the contracts of wide receiver Marty Booker, quarterback Trent Green, tackle L.J. Shelton and defensive tackle Keith Traylor, the team announced. In addition, the team waived tackle Anthony Alabi, defensive tackle Anthony Bryant, tackle Marion Dukes, defensive tackle Marquay Love and tackle Joe Toledo.

“This is never easy, especially since all of these players worked hard during their tenure here,†Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland said. “In particular, in the case of each of the veterans, it’s especially difficult to release players who have been productive and valued members of the organization. However, we feel these decisions are in the best interest of the team.

“I want to thank all of them for their contributions to the Dolphins and wish them good luck.â€

These all make sense, but as far as Booker, this either means they have faith in Hagan (doubtful) or we're planning on making a move for a big WR this offseason (draft, keyshaun, trade?)
