My guess is Donnie Jones. Turk was just downgraded and we may need a punter for the game. Of course, if Turk needs to go on injured reserve, then we may just bring back Jones and that leave us still with an open slot.

I figured that we would of done this alot sooner, then now. It didn't make much sense to me when we place him on the IR, and the fact being that his contract was up after this year. So long DT.
 
I think that they put Derrius Thompson on IR because they wanted to make room for Peerless Price. Seeing that the last game of the pre-season Derrius was shining, Saban didn't want to cut him because he knew he had potential so he put him on IR when he injured his hamstring and would be out for at least a month or two. Thinking that 2 months was too long they put him on IR also thinking they were going to get Price. Not only did the Dolphins feel screwed by Peerless Price, Derrius felt screwed that he was placed on IR and wasn't going to be able to play this season. So the Dolphins released him so he can find a job elsewhere.
 
Ok, people NOBODY TAKES HIS PLACE. He didn't count against the roster. He was in Injured Reserve. IR players as well as PUP players do not count against the cap, therefore releasing players on those lists leaves no open space on the roster.

i beleive IR and PUP do count against cap but dont count for a roster spot. I may be wrong and if i am sorry but i think thats what it is

Well, I'm glad to see he's gone (another Wanny-went-wrong signing) but he was on IR, not the practice squad...he has been in the league too long to be eligible for the PS...either way...he's gone and that's a good thing...
 
good, he was way too inconsistent for me. I love Saban!! He is cleaning up Wanny's mess one overpaid loser at a time!!
