MERGED 8X: Pasquarelli on JT's new role

SWEET! Man am I glad to see they think so much of him. I want him to retire a Dolphin. :D

Great article.

You get the sense that JT is going to be used as an attacking force. Reminds me a bit of how opposing offenses would always have to loof for LT before every snap to make sure he was accounted for.

I engaged in several arguments (months ago, related to the use of the 3-4 D) where I claimed that as great as JT was, he could be better if he was given more freedom. I felt his athleticism and instincts would be more thoroughly utilized. I also said that's what Saban would see. I'm glad to see some evidence that JT will be used in that way.

Very good read! He's being challanged and I like that. I think they all are.

Where's all the people who swore we wouldn't use the 3-4 and that JT didn't have the skills to play LB?

JT is going to the pro bowl!
...again.
I don't know that he will, honestly, but knowing the kind of amazing athlete he is I wouldn't be surprised. Can you imagine JT dropping back into coverage and picking off Losman or Pennington? This season is going to be very exciting, no matter what the record ends up being.

jason Tayolor will be insane this year. all over the field, well he was all over before and now will be a great force. I can not wait to see the results of him being so versatile.
NO MORE VANILLA FOOTBALL

So, just so I have this straight: Pasquarelli is a good guy this week, yes? A genius, even?

I wanted to be sure before the board condemns him en masse the next time he writes something everyone doesn't like.

Nice article, great imagery. My question is can Jason’s body take it. At 6-6 260, him lining up at linebaker (middle or whatever) introduces a mismatch. A mismatch not in favor of the Dolphins, Jason upright has a harder time getting leverage enough to bring running backs down, and they will be the primary means of attacking Jason. You might say he has done it at DE, but also remember he’s already low in at that stance and basically he’s standing up into the running back and not coming down on him. This in turn gives him some modicum of leverage, to push, lift and get the runner down. Jason may very easily play great, I hope he does. I however think a freelance role suits Roth better then Taylor. Roth is 272 and only 6-4, Lavar A. is basically the same thing and we all remember that Orange night playing against Ricky (Ricky saw the sky more than once that night, and it wasn’t from a comfortable position). I hope Saban goes with the player and not the fan choice.

This season will defintely be exciting, and as you said, the record probably means nothing this time around as the team is learning the new system..year 2 will probably be a more determined year in terms of playoffs and beyond.
