DOLPHINS START LINEBACKING MAKEOVER

Team officials on Friday evening continued their efforts to sign Arizona Cardinals' free agent Calvin Pace, who visited earlier in the day, and would be the centerpiece of the club's reconfigured linebacker corps. But ESPN.com confirmed that Pace, one of the most highly sought free agents and likely to generate a $6 million-a-year contract with more than $15 million in guarantees, will visit with New York Jets officials on Saturday.
A five-year veteran who began his career as a defensive end before moving to linebacker in a 3-4 front in 2007, Pace is then expected to choose between offers from the Dolphins and the Jets.

Finally, some confirmation.

Alright, so it should be announced by tomorrow evening where he has chosen. I find it odd he would make these comments (in today's Herald) if he wasnt leaning heavily towards joining the Dolphins.

finally some new information, i think he is going to end up with the dolphiins i think he just wants to hear what the jets have to say, what they will pay him

We won,t get Pace..The Jets will bid high because they are at need at LB..Just got a bad feeling on this one

Like I said, incredibly ballsy move on his part, making those comments about joining the Fins and then joining a division rival (potentially).

How come it has to be between us and the Jets? Why can't it be like us and the Bengals or something? Why the Jets?

Come on now, you're looking at it all wrong. If he signs here, think how much more fun it will be to gloat?

:)

I'm sure he wants to hear what they will pay for him and compare and possibly try to increase his payday. Even if he wants to play in Miami he might be able to squeeze more money out of the deal if he makes the Dolphins belive he might sign with the Jets.

i have that feeling too, things have gone to well for us up to this point... if he walked away with a deal on teh table, i have a hard time beleiving he is going to come back. and yes, i think the jets are desperate too and will cough up more cash than were willing to. but hopefully pace will give us a chance to counter if he likes it that much here as he's said.. come on ireland and parcells... get this guy here... ASAP
