Merged (a zillion times over): Joe Philbin HC Trapper Keeper

Do you have to make a new thread that has already been made 5+ times? Takes the burden off the staff to have to merge. Common courtesy. Not being an *******.

Yea i'm sure they broke a real sweat merging the threads. Relax a touch boss. When I posted that people were still wondering if it was true or not and there was only 2 threads at the time. I was just trying to help prove the fact.

I swear some of the members on this site are the most uptight people in the world :rolleyes2:

I like the hire. I also like the possibilities of bringing Flynn with him, and keeping Bowles as the DC. But am i the only one wondering how much this guy can be committed to us (especially to the extent we NEED him to be) considering his SON just died?

I'm not trying to be negative because I hope we can move to west coast offense but my question is why didn't Reggie McKenzie interview him when he seems to be interviewing everyone else for the Raiders job. Did he know Philbin was going to get the job here or doesn't think he's head coach material? Just a thought

Read my post. WIOD in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale announced it on their 7 PM news broadcast. (Its staff includes JIMMY CEFALO) Isn't that solid enough proof?

No it's not enough. Because local news stations here in Colorado were reporting that McCoy was the Dolphins new coach. So until there is an official announcement from the Dolphins I don't believe it.

are u serious dude? nfl.com has it on its front page, if thats not enough for u im not sure what will be.

My only concern is how he is doing following his son's passing. I think he will bring some much needed imagination to our offense.

Great news! The Dolphins rarely do what I want them to do. I'm not gonna pretend I have inside info on any of these coaches, but I've always said I want them to pluck a guy from a winning organization (i.e. NE, GB, PIT), and raid that teams' staff. A good staff in place coming from a winning organization means a lot. Give me Flynn and the Packers QB coach and I'll be even more excited.

Finally!!!! thank god. I was worried about McCoy. Philbin will be a great fit and so excited about the future of my fins!

Meh, at least its a better hire than McCoy.

Hopefully he can take some facets of the Packer offense with him to Miami.

No more Dallas Cowboy retreads  ....on to the Packers retreads now. I'm fine with that though. For the most part, Cowboys retreads are players Parcells picked and Ted Thompson picked the players in Green Bay.

"[UPDATE: NFL Insider Danny More said on the Armando and Perk radio show this morning that Philbin has been eliminated as a candidate."
