Nate Jones. he's actually not that bad.

The Dolphins are trying to set up a visit for free agent DB Nathan Jones.

Jones knows the entire Dolphins' defensive staff from their days in Dallas. He's another former Bill Parcells DB that can play both safety and corner.

did he start in Dallas?
he was basically a dime behind Jacques Reeves, and a backup S, basically a nice ST player.

I think BP wants Keith Davis and Nate Jones together on ST

1) Davis
2) Ferguson
3) Glymph
4) Baker
5) Ryan
6) Darelik
7) Thomas

Jones, by my count, would make it 8... or am I missing a couple players?

Well maybe our special teams will be one of the best in the league but we aren't signing much outside of that.
That, hopefully, will come in the draft. Parcells and Ireland aren't really looking for starters in FA, although a few of the FAs they signed are on the rise and might surprise. Patience, young grasshopper.

If you want him you can have him, he is worse than Reeves. His best play was to blitz off the edge, he is the one that knocked Farve out of the game when we played them.

He is pretty good at special teams, but has about as much coverage skills as our water boy. Dallas has not offered him a new contract and I highly doubt we will.

I am not discounting your view, but why did Houston

pay Reeves all that money? Reeves, Davis, and Jones may not be much as defensive backs, but their worth is there in some regard, otherwise, they would be like all the 30 something OL that aren't getting signed.

I think he is pretty much on par with Reeves, who got a ridiculous contract. Thus, if we sign him to a way more reasonable deal, its a decent move for depth.

Because we are signing these good special teams guys, but will draft our skill position guys and biuld the core of the team that way.

Exactly!

We probably have 9 draft picks (7 regular + maybe 2 compensatory picks), 4 or 5 guys should start right away, the others could add depth, are special teams guys or maybe surprise us if we got some steals in the later rounds!
