“I really enjoy playing at the stadium up here. It’s crazy – every game is sold out,” he said. “So there are minimal Steelers fans in the crowd. One thing I didn’t like about Miami, when they have those rivalry games against the Jets, sometimes there’d be just as many Jets fans in our stadium than there were Dolphins fans. It’s really nice to experience a rivalry when you have so much fan support on your side.”

----Ricky Williams

I guess the players do realize the lack of support more than we thought...

ummmm yes it is. Did you not here the 'D-FENSE' cheers when we had the ball?

I'm not sure why people are so surprised? It's been this way for a while.

The problem is, there are too many damn Bostonions and New Yorkers living in South Florida... I doubt there are many Pittsburgh people living in Baltimore.

Hmmm, been saying that for a long time now. There are some that still refuse to acknowledge that there is a problem with the local fan base.

I am SO sick of this line of thought and criticism. The reason Miami has attendance/fan issues is because 80% of the population here are transplants and PRIMARILY from New York and New England areas. Do we expect all of those people to change their life long sports loyalty just because they move here? PLEASE!

I think the fact that we STILL sell out as much as we do is a testimony to our fans. We sell out despite having a fraction of the local fan base that New York and other major towns. Come on man..its not apples to apples. I think the % of native citizens who support this team is HIGHER than any other town. So give me a break with this worn out philosophy. Its bogus and always has been.

Not surprised Sid Rosenberg is popular on radio in south florida for a reason..
Many transplant new yorkers down here.
I know a few jets and giants fans in the neighborhood.
They lived in miami about 10 years after the glory days of Marino.
Their kids will follow the new york teams too.
Giants fans get to brag that they stopped the perfect patriot team from wining the Superbowl
something dolphin fans can be happy about.
Jets fans feel like they are close every year when they had Pennington and now Rex Ryan.
What can dolphin fans be proud about? You have to go way back to the perfect season
Many dolphin fans were not even born in that perfect era.
I think the proudest moment i felt for the team lately
is when they unveiled the wildcat and ran wild on the patriots
but now the patriots payed us back this week
catching our defense off guard in so many ways
that it makes me wonder how far the dolphins are away from wining it all..

Funny, despite what many have been saying for a long time now, there are still some on this board that refuse to acknowledge the coaching staff is a problem...

One of these problems can directly lead to the other.

If you win, they will come. Look at the Ravens product compared to ours. We haven't won at home enough to justify the hometown fans it's worth the $ to come out. Who can blame them? I know the die hards are doing their thing, but the fact is most people are bandwagoners.

It doesn't matter what the reason for it is the bottom line is Fan attendance in Miami stinks. Your stadium should be at least 95% home team fans and it's not close to that in Miami. There may be a hundred very good reasons for it but it still stinks.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ross needs to invest in incentivizing getting Dolphins fans from around the country to the games. Like a travel voucher or hotel deal or something. There are many rabid Dolphins fans around the country, many of whom congregate on this and other forums (fori?). We'd have that stadium rocking, that's for sure.

No quite the opposite my friend. Pennsylvania and Maryland are ajoining states and there are plenty of squealer/steeler fans here. For instance on Pennsylvania Avenue, D.C. there is a Steeler Bar that is packed with them when they play. Never seen that anywhere. It's just a different mindset when it comes to rooting for your team up here. Kinda like college football in the (SEC). I was priviledged to attend a dolphin game in Miami against the bills some years ago.......I had on my dolphin Jersey and had a Dolphin Beach Towel drapped over my shoulders the entire time in the 85-90 degree sun section. My wife of one year at the time thought I was Crazy. I was yelling the whole time while other dolphin fans looked at my like I was strange....just a different mindset I think. We lost....but I was there sitting next to a Bills fan :idk:!!!

its just how it is, no one is going to change it, sorry.
