Merged: Another swipe at the fans, is it really this bad?

sigh

I was driving down the road the other day (just as an example) and what do I see in someones' yard? I big *** Patriots flag ;(. Anyway..it's all been said before.

1 - Miami is a loser. Plain and simple. We haven't done anything and at best WON anything in many, many years. This last decade has been the worst.

2 - Been said a million times. Ton of Mass/NY people that live down here during the ****ty season up north. Unfortunately..that is right around football.

3 - Try winning at home for a change. Give us a reason to show up. The Patriots, the Jets fans, they all have good reasons.

The announcers even said it. Did they mention some empty seats? Yeah..but..they also said the only way to fix that is to win. I sure as **** don't remember teams like Colts, Patriots, among others with a rabid fanbase before Brady/Manning. Saints? I mean..let's just try winning first.

It is what it is. Nobody is moving to places like Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Green Bay for god sakes because they want to..usually.

Well when our record is like 2-13 at home over the last 15 home games that speaks volumes. The Dolphins flat out suck at Sun Life Stadium.

Ricky will have the last laugh when his team goes deep into the playoffs
and have a higher yards per rush avg than anyone we have..
Ricky also made these statements when he thought Sporano was gone like 90% of us thought..

Can you really blame the fans for not going? Look at the product on the field. It's brutual.

Hmm well I guess the Dolphins team, organization, and fans are just the worst, most God awful, wretchedly poor, red-headed step children of the universe. **** me for being a fan, what was I thinking all these years?

ummmm yes it is. Did you not here the 'D-FENSE' cheers when we had the ball?

I'm not sure why people are so surprised? It's been this way for a while.

Yet I've heard the "Let's Go Dolphins" chant in other stadiums on tv before, even at the Meadowlands. I think people put too emphasis over what they hear on TV.

Been to most stadiiums in the NFL to be honest, Miami, by far, is the worst for having opposing fans in the seats. Its understandable though. Lots of people up North own rental homes here or they just take off 3 days and go to the games. Was the same way out in Arizona before the Cards built the new stadium.

Many Miami fans take the Miami Jerseys off when the Jets, Giants, NE or Pittsburgh are in town. They have cheered for these teams their whole life, they are not going to change now because they moved.

The problem is, there are too many damn Bostonions and New Yorkers living in South Florida... I doubt there are many Pittsburgh people living in Baltimore.

If Steelers fans took over the Ravens' stadium it'd be b/c the cities aren't that far from each other

Forgive me if I am wrong, but wasnt the last time he was suspended for smoking in 2006? 5 years ago..

Forgive me if im wrong, he dicked over these fans and his teamates multiple times......does 5 yrs ago change that? We were good to Ricky that was my point. I live in Ohio or I would go to 5 games a yr minimum.

I moved to South Florida in 1993 from New York I was a Giants Fan.When I moved I decided that South Florida is now my new Hometown and for that reason I support all the local South Florida teams its a matter of hometown pride.I was not going to support a team I had no connection with anymore just out of tradition.I live here and love South Florida so I show love for the hometown teams. Now my New York friends call me a traitor and not a real New Yorker.I tell them if you love and want to support New York so much you should move back there.

I always hometown meant where you were born, not where you currently live.

Not surprised Sid Rosenberg is popular on radio in south florida for a reason..
Many transplant new yorkers down here.
I know a few jets and giants fans in the neighborhood.
They lived in miami about 10 years after the glory days of Marino.
Their kids will follow the new york teams too.
Giants fans get to brag that they stopped the perfect patriot team from wining the Superbowl
something dolphin fans can be happy about.
Jets fans feel like they are close every year when they had Pennington and now Rex Ryan.
What can dolphin fans be proud about? You have to go way back to the perfect season
Many dolphin fans were not even born in that perfect era.
I think the proudest moment i felt for the team lately
is when they unveiled the wildcat and ran wild on the patriots
but now the patriots payed us back this week
catching our defense off guard in so many ways
that it makes me wonder how far the dolphins are away from wining it all
..

We have done far more then that to the Pats. In 2006, we shutout a Brady lead team, in 2008, Miami became the 1st non-Patriot team to win the AFC east, in 2009, Brady threw 2 INTs to Davis in successive games. Miami has beaten the Patriots more then any other team. Time will eventually catch up to the Patriots, like it did for the Dolphins. Why do you think Belichek & Brady were so extatic after just winning 1 game. They are far more nervous of Miami then the Jets and Bills. They feel more comfortable seeing the Jets or Bills in 2nd place, then they do the Dolphins.

As far as Miami losing to the Patriots may show how far the Miami Dolphins still are from winning it all. When the Patriots won their 1st SB, they got CRUSHED by the Bills in game 1, who scored 40+ points on the Patriots D, then eventually the Pats lost Bledsoe, and the rest is history.

Let us not forget, in 2007, Miami was horrible, but in London Miami still almost out played a team that to that point had looked very average at best, that team by the end of the season got hot, and ended up winning the SB and stopping a Patriots team that thought they were going undefeated.

Things change very fast in the NFL.

the reason why we have so many different fans down here is a positive, think about it. how many people are moving to cities like baltimore or pittsburgh? these are old citiies whose economies have been in the toilet for decades. florida has had a history in the last half of a century of having a booming economy. the fact that these people need to move down here because their crappy cities have become so dilapitated is a testimate we have to our lifestyle.

Booming economy? A lot of what I've heard on this site for poor attendance at home games is b/c everyone is unemployed down there.

Which is it?

----Ricky Williams

I guess the players do realize the lack of support more than we thought...

How DARE our fans not spend an UNREASONABLE amount of money and five hours of their time to come see the dolphins lose!!!

Horrible fans!! I know for sure if i lived in miami i would be more than happy to spend $200 every sunday to watch the dolphins lose!!

Im sick of hearing about this. I can watch the phins lose at home for free, il stick with that

Two more things I didn't see mentioned:

1. We did almost nothing relevant in the off season to get fans excited about this season.

2. Ross showed he has no confidence in Sparano and Sparano/Ireland showed they have no confidence in Henne so why should the fans have any confidence in the team?

Its not the fans fault that the entire northeast moved to Florida speaking for myself ive been a loyal fan for 30 years and when im at the games im as loud as possible when our d is on the field.
