Just saw on ESPNs around the horn that the Dolphins are seriously considering trading up to draft Vince Young. This would be ludacris. Most of the guys sold it as a smoke screen but I don't even like it being discussed. What do you guys think?
 
Around the Horn bout Dolphins

Just talked about the speculation of Vince Young coming. Almost everyoen sold but one who said that we would need him for backup like Patriots use to have. Everyone else showed how we need other things like LB and dont have that money to spend. We already took a big risk to get Culpepper and shouldnt take another. Hopefully this thread will shut up the Vince Young threads for awhile. I really see no merit for him except for the future which we can get later with someone else or maybe even next year (which may be hard since we are winning superbowl ;)).

First of all, Vince isn't a WR so forget that right away. 2nd, he is going to be a horrible NFL quarterback. I want no peice of this guy especially with all the needs we still have.

Yeah agreed. There is no thought in Saban's mind to invest so much money and draft picks for a .... QB TO WR!?!?! It makes no sense. And I also agree that it is very risky because the way Vince Young plays does not seem like it will suceed in the NFL. I am not making any snap udgements because I cant wait to see him play but I dont think the risk is just. We have culpepper and we will bring in another back up. Not young.

Actually, no, you have no idea whether or not he can play WR or what kind of NFL QB he will be. You can make an uneducated guess.

If you want a backup quarterback that could play wide receiver, spend a late round pick on Michael Robinson out of Penn State.
 
I NEVER want to see this loser in a Dolphins uni, screw the Rose Bowl, idc how good he was IN COLLEGE, he wont be able to run that shotgun draw in the nfl.

Converting an athletic college QB to WR is not anywhere close to rare. In fact, Mike Mularkey has coached quite a few of these players. Hines Ward and Antuan Randel El made the switch, and they wanted Kordell Stewart to do it as well. Matt Jones just last year did it, and they wanted Tim Crouch to do it as well.
 
:lol: All these speculations and rumors makes me laugh. I will bet 10 million dollars* that Young will NOT be a Phin.



*cash prize will be paid out in Monopoly money.
 
i hope he gets drafted by the bills or jets, so i can personly enjoy watching us turn into the bust that HE WILL become

if we have to trade up id rather get mike huff, what do you have to say about him?
