I know some of you hate to admit it, but Brock Berlin is doing his best to play his way onto this team. He has completed 15-21 passes so far this preseason with a TD and an INT. That's a completion percentage of roughly 71%. I don't care if he is going against third string players. He's also playing with third and fourth string players, and this is the whole point of preseason games. Guys like Brock Berlin get the opportunity to play themselves into a roster spot.

I said it in another post about Brock recently. His strength has always been his accuracy, and he is proving that this preseason.

Someone get this man a beer. I would, but I'm too young.

Seriously though, nice post.

I don't understand any of the cap stuff either. I think the dead cap goes onto next years cap. I'm probably wrong though.
well, if it is only 600k, AJ should be real worried.

I think it's funny how everyone was saying how bad Berlin sucked about a month ago....I guess he shut them up....

What is the cap savings of Berlin over Sage. The fact is that 3rd string QBs dont play anyway and Berlin has showed enough to be 3rd string, so what would the savings be. I dont htink that AJ gets cut, our choices ar AJ of Ferotte.

brock had to play good its kind of his fault we lost to the bears throwing a short pass for an INT...

aw come on. im a huge berlin supporter but seriously, leaving a game on the shoulders of a rookie whos trying his best to even make the team? and then saying he's not good cuz he threw a pic and lost a game that doesnt even count in the first place. besides, he didnt give the bears the ball and let them score to get the lead.

Yeah it was his fault we lost. He's the one who gave up all the yards on defense.

I haven't seen the game yet... comes on NFL Network tomorrow at 4:00 PM.

I wasn't a fan of Berlin in college. He did step it up a notch from his Junior year to last year.

We saw what Sage Rosenfels was last year. One game with him was enough.

This is our second game in 5 days.... we're only talking two days of practice. We haven't had too much time to make many more strides.

Come August 27th - we'll know who is the starting QB. They all need to improve.

Explain to me why there are multiple backups playing well in preseason, Orton (Chicago), Casell (NE), Gerard (Jags), the dude in Atlanta, oh, and Sage Rosenfals . . . and that's off the top of my head. Least I remind you of the Start Brian Griese campaign, Berlins rocky presence at Miami, and our friend Mr. Lucas. And while were at it how about Scott Mitchell, and the winning Damon Huard while Dan was on the sidelines. And just for fun, I'll throw in JP Losmans 11/19, 88yds, and a TD today. Now explain to me the rational behind Berlin for starter knowing full well that one quarter of play against third stringers in preseason means squat.

This just in . . . the Colts 3rd string QB Travis Brown throws 14/30, 163yds, and a TD in tonights game against the Bills . . . Manning in trouble? Stay tuned. :shakeno:

Im not saying start him. But the rationale, we KNOW feely and freroote arent good, we dont know that yet about Berlin.
