Merged: BRAWL at camp?

After three weeks of beating the hell out of each other, getting yelled at and working their collective asse$ off I'm shocked fights don't happen on a regular basis....I like it....they are ready to get after it.

from what i heard Roth supposedly was rushing the passer and grabbed Ephraims throat or something

Brawls happen all the time. Basically, the team gets tired of beating on each other and has some pent up frustration. Little things like being held or perceived as being held can set them off.

Saban needs to make sure they channel that onto their opponents though. Most of the time, these fights sort themselves out and the guys get over it.

I would pay to see Jason Taylor throw Alabi by his jersey ten yards.

Is Saban turning offense and defense against each other? This could be good... or bad....Lol

^^^Heck yeah me too!

footballs a physical intense game. alot of people are disappointed about this fight, i personally dont mind. Shows the players have heart, and are out their with a fury. Hopefully their are no hard feelings :rawk:

I was there and did not see how it started :( but i did watch the fight. it was not only between 2 guys either it was like a group thing towards the end. A player even used his helmet to punch down onto another player. Saban was right there and let them get their frustrations out for a good 30 seconds with the crowd cheering. Once that horn went off though, the players stopped dead and got back to work. it is amazing how much control the coaching staff has. Let them fight for a little and then BAM back to normal. Very encouraging to watch. The crowd gave a standing ovation for the fight afterwards as well. When you are constantly fighting with another guy for a spot on the roster or just to prove yourself, frustration can kick in causing these brawls.

Edit: forgot to mentiont about jason throwing alabi down. it was towards the end and looked like an attempt to break the fight up. but alabi got knocked right on his ***...pretty funny to watch

apparently it was Taylor and Alabi, Wright and Middleton and Ephraim and Roth.

I think it's a good thing, its good to show a little passion. As for the whole everyone getting on thing... there must be around 80 guys out there, not everyone is going to get along.

I think Saban will sit them down and have words, but deep down he will love this.

For the people who say.. "why are they doing this?" or "this cant be good"... you obviously have never played football or you would understand how something like this would happen. When you've been hitting each other all summer long, during hot boring practices tempers flare. You have guys who need to make an impact to stick on the roster get a little too aggressive and then BOOM you got a fight... or it could start with trash talking back and forth and someone goes a little too far. Its more common than you may think.

Damn. this kid Wright better start to show some heart!!! first Saban makes him cry and now he backs down from someone who is getting in his face??
I know he's young, but after the team witnessed him cry, you would think he would take this opportunity to show the team and more importantly, the COACH, that hes no pushover.

sorry about getting off topic, but i needed to get that off my chest.
ok i feel better now :D
