IF only it was for Miami......what could have been....????

I was very thankful at the time and I am even more so now.

he would be on IR if he had played behind OUR o-line the first 6 games

Agreed. You can't just assume Brees would be as good with the Fins. The Saint offensive line is good at blocking for the run and pass. Not so much either for the Dolphins (at least consistently).

He probably was the better option, but no way can you assume he would have been as effective in Miami as in NO.

I can sure as hell assume he wouldn't have been sitting on the freaking bench the whole season like the "superstar" QB we wasted a second round pick on. I can sure as hell assume he wouldn't throw one INT after another like the never-was we wasted a fifth round pick on, too.

Good QB's help their lines out a lot by moving around in the pocket and getting rid of the ball quickly.
DC had no pocket presence and had no mobility. He looked like he was moving in slow motion, even in his dropbacks.

We would be going to the playoffs if Brees was a dolphin now. Let's just accept this catastrophic blunder and move on.

Did anyone see the recent article that revealed the extent of Brees' injury?? His recovery is pretty miraculous.

Like Pennington, quarterback Drew Brees of New Orleans came back from extensive shoulder surgery, and is on pace to throw for nearly 5,000 yards. Now that Brees has demonstrated how healthy he is -- healthy enough to be a candidate for most valuable player -- the extent of his shoulder injury can be revealed. It seems that Brees had a 360-degree tear of the labrum and that the repair work done by surgeon James Andrews, the renowned orthopedist from Birmingham, Ala., included the insertion of nearly a dozen pins in the shoulder. That makes the comeback Brees -- who threw for over 500 yards in a losing cause in Week 11 -- all the more remarkable.

From Pasquarelli's Tip Sheet a few weeks ago (ESPN Insider).

Surely that kind of information would have given you pause.

Yeah, that's what makes what he is doing truly amazing!

He's played incredible football. But you have to look at the entire picture. Look at the offense he's playing with. That OL has been outstanding. Head and shoulders above this one. Joe Horn, Marcus Colston and Devery Henderson at WR. Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush out of the backfield. That's as explosive an offense as there is in this league. And, with Brees as the trigger man, it has realized its potential.

No you can't. It's impossible to say how Brees would have done in Miami. Your post shows a lack of football intelligence and is l,ike many of your other posts, completely void of any logic.
The fins chose Daunte because his injury was not thought to be as serious as Brees. The Dolphins were not the only team to think so. Brees' recovery is nothing short of miraculous. Brees' contract demands were also very high. The Saints are reeping the benefit of his play today but his cap hit is so large that it may prevent them from adding some critical pieces to the mix.
The Dolphins took Harrinton for a fairly cheap price when one considers that a fifth round pick is not much in exchange for a Qb who will play over ten games in a season. HArrington is not going to be a starter in this league but he can become an adequate back-up, which is important in the NFL.

I don't know that's a good assumption.

A. The doctors said that there was likelihood that Brees would reinjure his shoulder.
B. Daunte bruised his shoulder in the Bills game.

If Brees reinjured his shoulder due to an offensive line breakdown in one of the first few games of the season, it's possible that he would have been sitting on the bench for the rest of his career.

Man...all this hind sight crap is getting old. 3/4 of the way into the season and there are still morons that want to bring this up.

Why don't you look ahead and see what your crystal ball tells you, and then let the rest of us know.
