Just more waiting on the Brees front. It was just announced that Brees and the Miami Dolphins will start re-negociating a contract today to see if both sides can strike a deal. I'm not sure what went down last night, but it's time to either poop or get off the pot for the Phinz....

We're wasting tons of time on this, not to mention other opportunities....

Does this mean that Brees and the Dolphins were talking about a contract yesterday

I don't think the Dolphins need to "poop or get off the pot"...I think it's Brees!
He's simply NOT worth what he and his agent are asking for. Brees needs to make up his mind...does he want to make a little less and get a Super Bowl ring or have a little more and spend playoff time at Marte Gra???? Truth is the Saints are the worst franchise in the NFL right now. It's really a NO BRAINER for Brees...
 
I'm sure Saban and Mueller and making damned sure that Brees' shoulder is going to heal right. They're taking their time with it and doing it right because if this gets botched, it's the type of thing that can really hurt a blossoming franchise.

It was on the Mike and Mike news desk, where the guy gives live updates. He mentioned us and Brees working on re-negociations today. What the hell that means?? I'll just have to assume we're trying to "bridge the gap".....

Keep the faith man.... I obviously don't know for sure, but i've got a feeling Saban and the guys are not getting bogged down here. They'll have the feelers out for other guys. I actually feel pretty confident that Saban wont sell the house to get one person.

"Wasting" time?? We are about to sign a long term contract to the highest touted QB to hit the open market in years? How are we wasting time? Would you rather we just give him a half-baked contract, be stupid about our cap-space, and forget to dot the i's and cross the t's?
I'm sure the brass is doing it right?
And I'm sure their not worried about "your" concern that it is taking too long because it actually is taking more than one day.

Enough already........

Lets get this QB situation settled and move on! We still have other needs to address and the clock is ticking.

1) I think we still need to find another receiver to compliment Chambers/Booker

2) Do we resign Lance or look for a replacement in FA maybe Chris Hope?

3) What about Sam Adams and Kevin Mawae? are we still interested in these guys?

4) Who will compete with Cleo Lemons for the backup spot?

At this point I will settle for either guy but lets make sure we get one or the other and move on.
 
Keep me posted Blitz I'm at school waiting for the FCAT to finish, and I have to wait for the underclassman to finish

Why is it Brees? If you were in his shoes, wouldn't you want your agent to neg. the best contract he can for you? It's been two freaking days. I know it is hard, and i am as impatient as anyone, but look at it realistically, were talking a high priced free agent at a position we have neglected for 6 seasons. Let both sides do there jobs. I think, and hope, we will here something by tonight. Now that being said, sign the contract Drew !!!!!!!

Trust me, Saban and the boys are not as pre-ocupied as we are..... You want me to prove it..... fine, they're professionals, we're not! They'll get it done.
