Bottom Line on Brett Farve

The Packers are hurting as a team because Brett Farve won't retire. Instead, Farve is bringing all his personal problems and baggage into the team. It is obvious that their head coach is affected by it. He may end up losing his job because he couldn't tell Brett Farve it was time to retire or be traded.

It doesn't seem like Farve has any interest in sticking around as a backup to teach their young draft pick anything either. Alot of the players will only play for Farve, so the young draft pick (name?) has no chance at really taking over the team until Farve leaves.

Brett Frave was a great QB. One of the all time greatest. He will definitely be in the hall of fame someday. He had a great career. It is now time for time to retire before he gets remembered as having a horrible ending to a great career. I don't see how he has any chance of returning to Green Bay next season. And since his family has been sacrificing and supporting his play for so long, I highly doubt they will support him if he wants to stick around a few more years as a back-up to help train the young guy.

These next two games will be Farves last. Watch him play while you can.

well, let's see... three RBs, gone... three starting O-Linemen, gone... best receiver, gone.... TEs hurt much of the season... no secondary or LBs to help... and the Packers' mess is all Brett's fault... cool... ok

He made some terrible decisions tonight. All year really. Its not ALL his fault, but he has lost games his self more than once this year

I may be wrong, but Tom Brady has done pretty darn well under the same circumstances. Brett Favre is playing at AJ Feeley levels in a lot of games this year- he is making mistakes that cripple his team because he doesn't take care of the ball at all, which is even more important when you don't have the talent to overcome it. Favre is a legend, but right now he is what his statistics would show- a horrible QB.

What kills me is when Favre gets all these excuses everytime he makes a bad throw.
"He feels like he has to make every play"
"People are hurt"
"He has personal problems" (he does but....)
"What a gunslinger!"
"The planets are not aligned properly"

Especially Sunday nights....

Favre certainly has to take a lot of the blame, he is just throwing up prayers and making terrible decisions. Hes earned the right to go out how he wants but I hope he decides its time. The Packers need to start building their team for the future, not getting ready for a last run with Brett. It would be nice for him to go out fighting for the Superbowl, but this team has little to no shot at making the playoffs next year regardless of Brett. Brett has lost it this year, in Marino's last few years he was playing on one leg, injured and he still brought teams to the playoffs with little to no running game and 2nd rate offensive talent, Brett's done.

It would be pretty funny if Favre returns and gets benched.

Please do not compare the Patriots' injuries and free agent defections on offense to the amount Green Bay has suffered this season.... I don't want to have to document it.

Favre is not playing well, granted, but making a Brady parallel is a huge stretch.

That and Global Warming.

Actually, Favre's decision making has been poor of late.

He is still bettter than many starting QB's but he is not nearly the QB he was

Favre is embarrasing himself more this year than any other player i have ever seen. You cant blame the lack of talent around him for the desicions he has made this year. The throw at the end of the first half of the bears game was terrible, him trying the fake spike at the end of the bengals game, failed terribly. Just some examples. He is washed up. If you he returns next year he will either get severly injured on the field or just completly embarass himself even more, which is almost not even possible. I'm talking 10 tds 35 ints
