Add Hall of Fame linebacker Nick Buoniconti to list of people wondering when Ted Ginn is going to show signs he was worth the No. 9 pick in the 2007 NFL draft.

Buoniconti appeared on ESPN 760 Tuesday and didn’t pull any punches when the subject of Ginn came up during the Dolphin legend’s interview with Evan Cohen.

“The kid looks like he’s lost on I-95,” Buoniconti said. “The guy can’t find his way out of the huddle.”

A high school quarterback and the top-rated cornerback in the nation in high school, Ginn didn’t start to play receiver until he arrived at Ohio State in 2004. He’s still learning the position, and it continued to show on Sunday.

I think it's well known that we're in full rebuild mode because of poor drafting the last 5 years.

Ginn wasn't a top ten pick. We get it.

ok? what does he have to say about Camarillo? Hagan? Bess? Wilford?

What does he suggest we do to work around this 'ginn situation'?

Nothing CitizenSnips, nothing. No one ever suggests a solution they only rip the situation apart and offer their opinion. Ginn is the starter this year like it or not and it is up to him to step up to the plate this year and improve his performance from last year. No one else is going to do it for him.

Now that i can agree with. Completely.

I just wish people could keep it simple, especially a guy like Bouniconti, whose words will make it into the public. Why couldn't he just say

on Ginn: "We'll see how he does this year. Their not too impressive at all through the air"

Joe Rose also ripped Ginn this morning. Pete Prisco singles Ginn out on his Power Rankings.

Ginn is getting flack because of his draft position. It may not be fair, but it is what it is.

Ginn shouldn't be a #1. London appearently has speed, I would but either Hagan or London on the outside and move Ginn into the slot. move him around and use him in motion as many a wise poster as mentioned. Ginn takes to much time to get upto speed. I think the underneath stuff would be there for him and let the other receivers get out and block downfield.

The running game would help that out immensely as well.

Oh there are just too many areas. But the whole league knows our receivers suck now. It's going to be a 8 man box for weeks to come.

Wow. I didn't realize Buoniconti was a poster here.

This is really maddening. Was it not just weeks ago after the third pre-season game that everyone was talking about Ginn finally getting it? He caught some balls from Pennington and people were glowing about how Ginn put up those numbers in only one half.

If Nugent doesn't injure himself, and the Jets kick a field goal instead of getting that touchdown, maybe we win, and then Sparano isn't an idiot, Ginn isn't a bum, the refs aren't out to get us and Penny's weak arm isn't hurting our DB's ability to cover the long ball.

You put Ginn/Bess in motion under the slot position, Then two others Hagan *sigh* and Camarillo *meh* as our X and Y.

Will the defense honor that? Maybe..really depends on what defense they are in (base, nickel, dime). I'd say when they are in base on 1st down is when they'll honor it the most, then they'll play the LoS the rest of the downs.

I saw Ginn open on more than a few plays, most notably the flee flicker where he was WIDE open. Another poster mentioned he was wide open on the last play of the game that took Pennington 5 seconds to get the ball to him. He didn't return any kickoffs and I'm still trying to figure that one out.

I like Pennington and all, so don't get me wrong, but we have to accept he's not going to cater to Ginn's strongpoints, He's not going to throw the long bomb or bullet slants where Ginn can KILL.

So it takes a trick play for Ginn to get open...O'Brother.

Ginn doesn't run slants....and it isn't because of Pennington.

if ginn was a top rated conerback in the country coming out of high school, then why didn't he play conerback? LOL

I feel bad for him. The criticism Ginn receives is extremely unfair, but it was the Dolphins organization that opened him up to it. Cameron made a point when introducing him to introduce him as a punt returner. That's what he is, a punt returner. That's how he should be viewed. That's how he should be critiqued. Trying to push him into a #1 receivers role just because he was drafted #9 is going to break him, and it will be the Dolphins fault once it happens. He is a project at receiver, same as Devin Hester. You can be critical of the pick; taking a punt returner that high. But critiquing Ginn as a #1 receiver is ridiculous.

Whats ridiculous is wasting a #9 pick on a punt returner.

Ginn looks like he is scared as hell of contact. Why was he not fielding punts that he could of returned 5 yds before getting touched? Ginn has to go into motion, that's his only hope. He gets abused off the line. He has a looooong ways to go before he is even a top 50 WR in this league.
