MERGED: Carson to Oakland?

wow... i didn't even look at the compensation... a 2012 1st and conditional 2013 1st ? i guess Al Davis is still around after all...

Raiders to sign Palmer at QB!!

Not that it would help at this point, but how come all of a sudden now he is on the trading block when we would have probably given a lot for him at the beginning of the season.

Raiders gave up quite a bit for him. They were desperate to get this guy, and probably the only team that offered what they did.

2 possible 1st round picks? well al davis must have left it in his will..yeah i think the bengals got the better of the deal. 2 1st rounders with a young, improving team.

Kudos to Mike Brown for taking the Raiders to the cleaners. That team is going to have some serious options come next year's draft.

You beat me too it. By the time I was done posting my replay you moved it lol. That was my next step.

lol.............

I give them credit for taking a chance on Palmer. Yea it was probably too much to give up . . . but none of that means anything if Palmer leads them to the promiseland.

The Raiders beat me to it....

I kept holding out hope that we would pull off some surprise trade for Palmer..........

He is a Raider!!!

Even if Ireland/Sparano wanted Palmer from day 1 . . . I'm sure Stephen Ross laughed at the notion of giving up a first round pick, let alone 2 first round picks. Palmer was NEVER happening at that price . . . not with those 2 guys still with the team.

Too bad it wasn't us!

Ronnie Brown is also now a Detroit Lion.....he will explode there!

Palmer wasn't worth two first round picks. I actually like the guy and I think he would have been a good pickup for our team, but he ain't worth two first round picks. Especially not for a team this bad that's looking at picking in the top three.

I dont think he is worth 2 first rounds however for the raider organization i believe this is a smart move,
they lost their starting qb,
in a position to win their division.
Palmer is a california (USC) product

the raiders have been such a let down for fans for such a number of years that this is a time where they need to take a shot, if they finish with above 10 wins they are going to get their crazy fan base up.

I'm glad we passed on this however i think the raiders made the right decision.

best case scenario carson is reenergized and takes that team to the playoffs. worst case and most likely to happen, carson is mcnabb status and gets benched for pryor in week 15..
