What are your thoughts on this CB?
Is he worth looking at?
Or is he that bad since he got cut by the Packers?

Go Fins!!!

[mod]Inappropiate comment .Take some time of to reflect on your posts. [/mod]

sometimes...a change of scenary will work wonders. he was rated as a good cb coming out of college...he was a 1st round pick...oh and if you have not noticed...our secondary gets beat pretty bad at times...watch the games.

does he have the physical abilities? is it mental lapses? what's his problem? could it be that he is on a very bad team...oh yeah he is on a bad team. maybe Saban can work with this kid and turn is career around. it was just a thought.

Go Fins!!!

he is an Arkansas player, SEC...Saban knows him well. Saban likes guys who were Former 1st round picks...i mean come on guys, he was burned by the best pass offense in the league...no wonder!! I wouldnt be surprised to see Saban bring him in. He cant possibly make this team any worse.

Ahmad Carroll was a 1st round pick because of his 4.3 speed. He was raw then and is still raw as his work ethics is not what it should be.

As far as our secondary getting beat pretty bad at times, that is going to happen to every secondary once in awhile.

yeah but ours gets beat more than just once in awhile. our secondary is not good right now...please don't say that they are okay or will be fine...the fact is our secondary is pretty bad...and they have not played against good passing teams yet...wait till this Sunday against the Pats...they are going to expose our secondary big time. our secondary gut burnt by C. Batch...the Bills never had to test our secondary in game 2 and when it did...guess what they blew it as well with the pass interference call and than the quick strike in the endzone...against the Titans...Collins looked pretty good...actually he looked the best he did all season and he sucks...if it wasn't for 3 over thrown passes to wide open recievers...we would be 0-4 right now...and last Sunday against the Texans...well A. Johnson vicitmized them...on a double coverage play...he goes up and makes the catch and our cb and safety were in bad position...face it...our secondary sucks.

maybe just maybe this kid could help us.

he got relesed not waived so i guess he can sign with anyone...and he will come very cheap now.

this may not be a bad investment...this kid has to be better than jackson...jackson looked bad all preseason and he isn't good.

Go Fins!!!

Carroll was released by a bad team, which does not bode well for him. While it is possible to find such diamonds in the rough, it usually does not work out.

Maybe it's worth taking a look for the right price. The guy has (or had) a lot of talent at one point.

yes...i thought the same thing about him getting released by a bad team...which is not good at all. and you are right...the odds are against him being successful in this league...especially for the position he plays. i don't know but i think it may be worth bringing him in. he's still young and might be a decent cb with the proper coaching and a new setting.

I don't see Carroll being a good fit for our team. With all of his athleticism, he should have been shut down corner in Jim Bates' scheme. Bates always asks the corners to play up on the receiver, jam at the line of scrimmage, and run with the receiver. Carroll couldn't cut it. He would be absolutely lost in our scheme.

Maybe Saban could sign him to the practice squad and work on teaching him our particular techniques, but Ahmad Carroll won't be any help to us this year.

yeah...you could be right with both of your statements.

nah he sucks i dont know if anyone has seen much of him this season but he has really looked pretty terrible particularly against detroit and lets face it detroit are a bad team

Very true, he wouldn't be of any use unless we were playing a very simple man cover 2.

Was he up for the Reggie Howard award in Green Bay?
