Merged: CNNSI Predicts Panthers v Dolphins Superbowl

Not just CNNSI.com but the actual magazine, Sports Illustrated, picked us. That is hard to believe, a year ago at this time we were considered by many to be the worst team in the league. I for one am not buying into the hype. Don't get me wrong I am optimistic, but as we all know the "experts" know nothing.

I dont think we were ever considered the worst team in the league

:rolleyes2 @ the "8-8" Bengals.

I stopped scrolling there.............

would be great to get back to the Super Bowl. I think we could beat the Panthers. :dolphins:

Even tho the 49ers were clearly much worse off than us .... that 4-12 season made it appear that we were much worse than we really were.... then we got a new coach so yeah people did expect us to be the worst team in the league.... Sure they all knew the 49ers were worse but everyone dispises the phins and hopes for them to fail. Thats why all the ESPN guys actually did say we were "horrible" or the " worst team in the AFC" prior to us going 9-7.

I think our schedule is VERY condusive to a playoff run this season but i'm still going to temper my superbowl expectations this season. I am on record as saying we're one more free agency period and draft away from REALLY arriving. But if we happen to be a little ahead of schedule, i'm NOT going to complain.

wow.. SI has the NFC East teams all having a 9-7 record. That would be cray if that really happened, and that would suck for the Eagles.

You gotta love the respect but there aint no way the bengals are 8-8 and there aint no way we loose a superbowl at home. Truthfully the predictions suck but its nice to see us listed as best in the AFC!

I just don't know if my little heart can handle a Dolphins Super Bowl loss

Yeah, I think so as well. Not only that though, Saban will face a LOT of ROOKIE head coaches. I can't help but think that we will really punish them, then you add in Dom-da-dom-dom-dom and I see a lot of QB's who are going to have VERY bad stats after facing us.

The preseason game was much more intense than those normal, boring, snoozefest preseason games.

Aw, damnit. The mainstream/liberal sports media is echoing my preseason picks... which means I'm completely wrong, because they always are.

Looks like it's Philadelphia versus Denver this year, guys!

Not quite true. Here's what you have to understand about the national sports media--they're all located in New York City, or at least in the New England area (ESPN is based in Connecticut, for example.) This means they all focus on teams from that general region of the US, and a good percentage of these writers and staffers are fans of these teams. Essentially, we have Jets, Bills, and Patriots fans discussing the Dolphins on a national level. It kind of muddies up the waters.
