Dan Carpenter is in serious trouble. He missed all three field goal attempts Thursday while Connor Barth split the uprights in his two shots

Dolphins K Dan Carpenter is reportedly in a "full-fledged fight" for his job.

The team recently signed former Chiefs kicker Connor Barth, who has been out-performing Carpenter in practice. Carpenter is the incumbent and owns a much stronger leg, so it's his job to lose in preseason action.

Guys this is not the first time I hear this kid misses FGs and it usually happens after 45 yards. We all know how this organization feels about kickers. So dont be surprise if the guy who replaced #3 gets replaced by another #3.

Yeah...I like D Carp but the better kicker is going to be playing for us on Sundays. That very well may be Barth.

Not sure what's going on with Carp though. Maybe he got lucky last season.

WOW!!! Talking about overreacting. A couple of days ago Carpenter made all of his kicks whereas Barth did not. If Carpenter continues to struggle then Omar should be posting stuff like this but not before the first preseason game.

Guys the reason Connor was brought in is cause Dan was missing kicks in camp.

We all know this but it is still a little early to be saying that he is trouble of losing his job to Barth before we played our first preseason game.

Barth will have to show a stronger leg on kickoffs than he did last year before he will be considered replacement for Carpenter. I know he had a very strong leg in college but the NFL "K" Ball is a little different than the one used in college and it takes some kickers a while to get used to it.

Disagree !! He was one of the best college kickers..Have you seen his highlights!!

IMO....unless Carp has a complete meltdown he will be our kicker.....that kid was money for us in every big situation he was in last yr. Now if he starts the season off and misses some easy kicks......The FO will have someone they can go to. I like Carp and I think the FO likes him and he will be our Kicker on opening day.

Carp is going to be our kicker. there is no real reason to have a camp competition for kicker. It's just another storyline. Sure, they brought the guy in. Carp misses a few kicks, they light a fire under his butt. Thats all. Carp was money last year. Everyone was banging on him for his lack of leg strength..Well, the new guy's leg is weaker.

Again...I think it's alot of smoke over nothing.

I agree that this may be a little bit of an over reaction. Carpenter was money last season. and unless he just really blows it in pre-season, he will be our kicker.

Just one of those Omar discussions that are rather dull and unrealistic.

Made all his extra point attemps in addition to all but 4 of his field goals last season. Unless we need a guy to give us better positioning during kick offs which is not the case then I see no reason to bring another guy in. I will be worried if he misses his pre season field goals.
