MERGED: Daniel Thomas has season-ending ankle injury

Mike Gillislee should get some carries now, but I expect the majority of DTs workload to be picked up by Lamar Miller.

Sucks for DT, he was actually doing pretty solid this year. I guess this means we get an extended look at gillislee and thigpen....

Hope this is good bye forever for Daniel Thomas. 2nd Round Bust. But I will enjoy the memories, untimely fumbles, alway falling backwards, the inability to pick up a yard. "The Career" long run of 28 yards. Please take out the trash dude. Another mediocre bust, but at least he did not dance behind the line like Reggie.

He's better than Mike Gillislee, but that is like saying that Poison was a better band than Ratt.

Also, his name is annoying to spell and say. And "35" is a crappy number.

I'm a Gator, by the way, so it's not like I hate him because he went to UF. And he seems like a nice guy. But this is all going to get old fast.

I'd like to see what Miller can do behind a decent line. I still think he can be the answer at RB moving forward. Don't want to spent money or picks on a rb until we get the awful line sorted out.

Yea thanks for pretty much nothing Thomas. Thought you could be great. But u turned out to be below average

Miller is a good complimentary back, nothing more. He has no vision or ability to break tackles... He is fast, that's about it.

Jonas Gray is not on our team. Gillislee is all we have.

uuuuuh, k?!! now if you tell me we've no remaining backs on PS, I'm gonna havta blast the friggin GM again as a complete buffoon who doesn't seem to get what the hell his job description entails!!!

as long as we still have a running back who can run into a wall of flabby scrub butt getting pushed back towards him, this won't hurt us.

Amazing that some are happy to see a Phins player hurt and out for the year. Then again these are "fans" who want Gillesse, who was horrible in preseason, and no other team wanted, Gray, who is not with the team, and on the game thread hated DT for going 3 carries for 8 yards. All was fine when Miller ran 10 times for the same 8 yards.

No PS RBs. Only Thigpen and Gillislee behind Miller. Occasionally Clay.

Every fanbase has its douchebags unfortunately. I don't think Thomas is a good RB, but I would certainly never wish him injured.

Thomas was our best backup so what does that tell you about our other on roster RB options? We are in deep doo doo at the position although we can't run the ball no matter who our RB is.

Neither RB looks like an answer. FWIW, PFF grades DT at +5.9, and Miller at -1.0. I agree that he has gotten more out of what he had to work with than Miller but, not to that extent. Miller had 3 big openings this year for 140 yards, and averaged 3.2 on the other 111 carries. DT's 3 long runs were only for 43 yards without any big openings, and averaged the same 3.2 on his other 74 carries, breaking more tackles.
