From Judd Zulgad, Star Tribune: " INDIANAPOLIS - Vikings owner Zygi Wilf said Saturday he plans to pay Daunte Culpepper a $6 million roster bonus on March 17 and tried to defuse growing speculation that the organization is going to sever ties with the quarterback by trading or releasing him. Asked if he could definitively say Culpepper was going to be on the Vikings roster in 2006, Wilf said: "That is our plan, yes. Always was." He reiterated that point in two follow-up questions."

I take that article with a grain of salt. I will believe it when I see it. Wilf is just postering.

He is doing whatever he can to get a draft pick for him. Dr Pepper will not be a Viking next year

Culpepper to stay in Minnesota

[mod]Do not use the breaking news title unless it really is breaking news. [/mod]

Just heard on ESPNEWS that Culpepper will be paid his 6 million dollar bonus and that was according to Zigi Wolf who also said that Culpepper is to stay in Minnesota because that is his plan. Its ESPNEWS so believe at your own risk I just thought I'd pass what I heard along.

This is not breaking news, nor does it guarantee Culpepper is staying in Minnesota.

It's no secret that the Vikings are trying to trade Culpepper. In the exact same statement he made, he noted that teams have contracted him in trade and not to rule anything out.

Now, considering there have been rumors about the Vikings cutting Culpepper, doesnt it make sense that he's going to deny it for trade leverage, even if he might do it?

No not guaranteed but it makes it highly doubtful that he is leaving Minnesota, and as for breaking news it may be to some, it was to me.

ehh... its not really breaking news, i was excited for a sec, i thought something exciting happened

I hope we can draft...Jay Cutler.:dolphins:

As for Culpepper, I'd rather have Brees anyway. Thanks for the update.

Yes but there are 20 threads on the subject already. This is the media being bored and running the same stories over again with different quotes. Nothing new here.
