I doubt it will happen... the NFL does not like players switching numbers once they have been established on a team with one because it hurts NFL merchandising efforts.

Yet the NFL allows John Abraham (NYJ) to switch from 94 to 56?? I think the No to Ricky was to screw him, giving him (or any player for that matter) a new number only HELPS the NFL's Money make, er, huh, Merchandising machine.....

I don't think that he will even if he could. Boston wants to start off with a new attitude and new #(80). John Owens is wearing #89 for us anyway.
