MERGED: Dawkins signs with Broncos/ 2 yr deal

the Broncos are trying to sure up there D they are getting some good players on both sides of the ball
 
Yeah but Dawkins is 35, unless there going to draft a S this year and let Dawkins bloom him
 
Will be lucky if they get two good years out of Dawkins
 
Denver's really trying to improve themselves.

Signed 2 more RBs today, Buckhalter and Arrington.
 
let's just say that the Iggles FO better hope Dawkins has a change of heart. This is the one player that fans did NOT want to lose. If Dawk is a Bronco (reports are the deal might not be finalizd yet), someone within that organization will be killed by a mob.

I wonder if that will effect McNabbs decision to stay or not

they have a young safety they really like in Josh Barrett, but the D was so bad last year AND they're switching to a 3-4 with undersized players. They needed a good veteran leader to help set the attitude.

Broncos have been very active for a reason; they've gone through a huge philosphy switch. They are no longer a west coast zone blocking offense or a 4-3 that we ran under Jim Bates. McDaniels brought in a good pass catching RB with speed (JJ Arrington) and another solid blocker (Correll Buckhalter), as well as a WR he knows (Jabar Gaffney). As for the D? He's signed a great leader in Dawkins (who at 35 still plays at a high level), our own Renaldo Hill (solid yet unspectacular), and are expected to sign former Browns ILB Andra Davis (who is a solid starter with 3-4 experience)

Agreed,

Dawkins is done. He had a nice season last year when Jim Johnson built the defense around his abilities, which are now down to tackling hard and rushing the line of scrimmage. He can't cover anymore, his skills have eroded. The Eagles are going to come out of this a better team, watch.
 
Brian Dawkins to.... the Broncos?!

Gotta admit, definitely didn't see that one coming.
