Dolphins | Draft pick asking price for Culpepper

Miami Dolphins are looking for a late-round draft choice from a team willing to acquire QB Daunte Culpepper, according to a source.

I hope we can get more than a case of beer for him...Daunte's stock is lowwwwwwww right now.

Shame to spend a second round pick on a guy one year, and then be willing to take anything for him the next.

Phase 2 of the plan is almost complete.

Awesome news.

Thanks

Miami right now is doing what they did with Mcmichael. They are shopping Duante all of today and will try to get anything for him before they release im tommorrow. You see if Duante sets foot on traning camp he is subject to get injured and Miami doesnt want to pay him. Another thing according to comments made by Green, he was informed Duante Culpepper has not passed a physical yet.

Does throwing in his crutches and stationary bike add any value?

j/k- I wish the guy well, he's our rag doll currently

They should have traded hm before this if possible if they wanted to get anything for him. Now everyone knows we have to give him away unless 2 teams want him.

Double edged sword there...if we had traded him earlier we would have had absolutely no leverage with Kansas City for Trent Green.

Hard to believe that just a few years ago Daunte got very close to winning the MVP. He would have if Peyton didn't also have a huge season. In 2004, the guy racked up 4,717 yards, 39 TDs with only 11 picks, and had a 110.9 QB rating for the year. The guy had been to 3 Pro Bowls.

Now this ... fast forward to 2007 and he's only worth a low round pick. It's like he's a former Triple Crown racehorse winner that got a small fracture in his leg and now he's considered worthless. I guess it just goes to show you that when you're on top, you better not take it for granted. It may not last too long. Sh_t happens. Bad injuries happen. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Who knows though. Maybe Daunte will flabbergast "the experts" and find a good fit with another team and make a huge comeback like Rocky or something. :chuckle:
