MERGED DEZ BRYANT: Must be Jeff Ireland's Fault

Better Pouncey brother? I just don't see it. He's on the All Pro and Pro Bowl but those are mostly based off recognition for being on an amazing team, the Steelers. There are holes in his game, just like there are holes in Mike's game. Both are very similar (As twins, who woulda thought?!)

I think more people on board wanted Earl Thomas at the time
We also forget we passed up players like Jason PierrePaul who
put up better numbers than Misi and Odrick COMBINED last season

We passed on the better Pouncey brother who has made the pro bowl 2 straight years
and also ALL PRO 2 straight years

We passed on Sean Weatherspoon who had a fantastic year last season

We passed on Ryan Mathews who had Reggie Bush stats with 1 less game played

We passed on stud guard Mike Iupati who has started 32 straight games anchoring the
offensive line in San Fran..It's not like we'd ever need a stud guard

We passed on Devin McCourty who has all ready made the pro bowl and
all-pro team

Lets not crown Ireland because he passed on Bryant
WHEN HE ALSO PASSED ON PLAYERS WHO HAVE HAD
A MUCH BIGGER IMPACT IN THE NFL THAN ODRICK AND MISSING

Easy for you to sit there in your chair, isn't it Mr. Armchair Quarterback? Perhaps you can share your crystal ball with the class.

"Gator's ****es better be usin' jimmies!"

I hate to brag I am 100% accurate in choosing players in the draft that will become probowl players if allowed to do it 2 years later.

The thing that is forgotten is that the Fins had multiple needs. There were many mistakes and wasted picks during BP's rein. Ireland got good players.
I think ODrick and Misi will finally prove themselves this year with big plays in the 4/3.
IMHO..Dez Bryant is a hardcore ghetto thug. His mother(who has no respect for law) raised him in a drug and prostitution riddled home. Such a shame that kids are raised this way. Some guys can be "fixed" and others can't. Bryant will run afoul with the law, again and again IMHO.
In hindsight, I am OK with the trade down.

My favorite comment so far.. "romo sucks" lol franchise qb that sucks. check his tape and his td to int ratio and holler

Pretty sure Misi was arrested recently as well...that, and he sucks.

ha ha ha ha...that's hilarious...he sucked as a 34 olb no doubt about that...but i think we may just make him salvageable as a 43 lb...should have tried something different with him after year 2...cause pressure player off the edge was not happening

dez was a top 5 talent all day long...elite talent...but it appears that he's never gonna get to fully show it cause he's got a 10 cent brain...and yeah i was the one pounding the table for this guy in that draft...i would again off that okla st tape of his i saw...terrific stuff...he's still though one of the few guys that can make darrell revis earn his paycheck in this league...but it sounds like dez needs a intervention or something before it's too late

Not every GM in the league has had 3 consecutive losing seasons.

But Ireland made the right call passing on Dez. Used to crack me up seeing people rage against Marshall yet openly covet Bryant. Bryant hasnt been as productive as Marshall despite having better quarterback play(and yes, Romo blows but hes not as bad as Henne) and is now racking up off the field distractions. This is his what, 4th incident in 2 years?

Justify putting those losses on the GM and not the coaching staff.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant allegedly hit his mother in the face with his baseball cap ... and grabbed her by the shirt so hard that he ripped her bra ... this according to arrest documents obtained by TMZ.The docs say ... cops were dispatched to Bryant's mother's home in DeSoto, Texas on July 14 at 1:47 PM after receiving a 911 call reporting an assault -- family violence.Once cops arrived to the scene, Dez's mom Angela told cops she had gotten into an argument with Dez and demanded that he leave the home ... and that's when Dez got physical. On the 911 call, Angela says, "My son has assaulted me. He's here now. he won't go home. I keep telling him to go, he won't go." You can clearly hear an argument in the background as Angela says, "I can't let him keep doing me like this. I'm gonna put an end to it today."According to the documents, cops returned to Angela's home 2 days later and she complained of pain in her wrists, hands and arms .. and said her chest was sore from Dez pushing her.Cops say they observed bruising in her upper arm. The docs list Dez Bryant as being 6'1", 198 pounds.Bryant turned himself into police yesterday, and was booked for assault -- family violence, a Class A misdemeanor.Dez’s attorney, Royce West, tells us ... “We’re going to do an investigation, find out what happened for ourselves. The most important thing is that we heal the family.”

Hoops, the fact he's such a talent can be viewed as a curse also. That in itself allowed him to get away with the crap that he did so far. I understand his upbringing and etc but when does he, as a man, step up and take responsibility? Folks tried to help him along the way but from my readings, he pushed them to the side. Somehow he needs to be held accountable for his actions before its too late like you said. No structure plus millions of dollars???? Disaster in the making!!!!It still kills me that Ireland took such a beating over his line of questioning before that draft. I believe Ireland was right with approach! Bryant wanted to be a smart ass with his responses by saying,"my dad was a pimp, and my mom worked for him". Sooooo, by them having a lil insight on whats going in his fam, asking if his mom wasnt a prostitute wasn't far fetched????

to my knowledge the only things he's ever been convicted of have been misdemeanors...my understanding is this latest incident is the same thing...as such he's gonna continue to get chances as long as he shows he belongs on a football field...and with his talent unless he starts getting felonys on his record it's gonna be a while...

i also off what i know about his mom have a hard time believing that she's not contributing here also...but that's just me

He's not convicted because people keep looking the other way. Perpetual offender, of his age and background, is likely to always let you down. In Criminal Justice (academic, not actual police) there seems to be the consensus that if children aren't showing signs of changing behavior by age 22, they are likely never going to.

I'm with you on him as a talent. He's like Hakeem Nicks but with twice the athleticism. Scary. Another example would be Kenny Britt in Tennessee. God the things that kid could be capable of if he only had his head screwed on straight.
