MERGED: Dion Jordan suspended 4 games

I rise upon this glorious occasion. Sleep on it my gentlemen and equivocate once more. Dion jordan will rage once more.

The NFL needs to get much tougher on its PED policy and start testing HGH right away. 4 games for testing positive for PED's is beyond a joke. It should be a minimum half a season. The biggest joke is how the NFL cannot disclose what they tested positive for and then we get the predictable responses about how they mistakenly took something without getting it checked out.
The policy is very clear and every NFL player is made quite aware what the banned substances are and what needs to be done to make sure you take a legal substance. These players are knowingly trying to cheat the system and it seems the NFl is more than happy to let there be some silly mystery bout what they were taking. You ever notice not one player comes out and says they took anything that is in reality bad its always something to make them seem less guilty of violating the drug policy.

As for the RAy Rice incident it seems the charges are being dismissed( people never understand that charges being dismissed or lessoned means jack as far as what actually happened just what they feel they can prove in court or how strng they feel their case is.) The commissioner is far too wishy washy in who gets these conduct suspensions and there is no clear cut policy that guides what happens. Players get DUI's that drag on for years and no action is taken and some players are not found guilty of anything and yet are suspended.

They definitely need to do something more to dissuade steroid use, if a player like Jordan wasn't going to get a lot of playing time anyway because he was developing too slow on his own then taking steroids is almost a free roll for him. I think they could leave the punishments at 4 games and a year but add in something like that thing the Roman soldiers used to do and everybody that fails a drug test draws rocks and the white rock gets banned from the league for life.

The only way that the 2 game suspension of Rice can be justified is if the NFL also factored in that Rice's wife is technically being punished too, as Rice is not being paid during the suspension.

I doubt it, though.

Who knows but technically charges were dropped much like the similar charges that Starks had in his domestic abuse case. The NFL has never been consistent with these kid of penalties. They might want to consider mandatory penalties for behavior.
Players get DUI's all the time and nothing really happens
