just saw John Clayton on ESPN and he said Packers and Dolphins are still in the hunt for Lavar. but he said its apparent the Giants are making a big push. seems like we are still a player.

Awesome!!! im so happy to hear that...If we get him this will be my dream team.

You know what, screw that guy.............the more this thing carries on the more it becomes apparent he's just using teams to drive up contract demands to meet the money he's seeking. This has absolutely nothing to do with wanting to play for a particular team - and that's EXACTLY the kind of player I don't want for the Dolphins.

Just saw espn news and it said he was close to reaching a deal with the giants...said nothing about miami or any other teams.

Well I just got off of the ESPN website, and they have all but confirmed that the Giants are going to land Arrington. They also stated the the Dolphins had an offer on the table of 5 million a year, which was not enough for Arrington who wants 7.5 MILLION DOLLARs A YEAR. For 5 million a year I probably wouldn't do the deal, but jeez man is that guy smoking thinking he is worth that kind of money . . man lets just hope the Giants sign this dude so we can get on with other issues, cuz I have said from the beginning I didn't want Arrington because of the cap issues he may cause, and now we see why he hasn't signed with Miami yet. Let's get over this guy, cuz people on here have Arrington as the next comming of God or sumthin of that nature, its crazy. We can address SLB in the draft. I refuse to have us restructure JT's and Zack's contract AGAIN, just for lavar to come here.

Well his gamble buying out his contract looks like its going to pay off. While I wish him well, I'm glad the Phins didn't go to that level. That would skew the whole cap structure and with his knees, I don't think its worth it. Saban/Mueller have got us back into closer balance with the cap and I am happy to stay there.

sign arrington and concentrate on somebody else with our first round pick - free agent signings = not using one of our 6 picks...

This is a business and we live in a capitalist society. He has every right to earn as much money as he can. He doesn't need to be on a roster at the present time, there are no games being played, there are no serious camps being conducted. I'm not thrilled about this dragging out, but he's only doing what most people in this country do when they are building a future for themselves and thats to make it as lucrative as he can. I'm sure you wouldn't mind being in his position and making sure you get as much money as possible. It's called life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It's his right.

Guys, he has signed with the Giants already

Here is a link from the NY POST:

http://www.nypost.com/sports/giants/67440.htm

Also, our resident insiders have been reporting this since yesterday at www.bigblueinteractive.com . The contract just needs to be approved by the league office. The Giants do not like to leak things to the media about signing players. If you recall, the Madison deal was leaked a week early but was done by his agent Rosenhaus.

Im glad this finally has come to an end!!

Im sure you will be able to nab a LB up in the draft.

Good luck this year!!!!

Boy, this is exactly why I enjoy college over Pro sports, players don't have the passion they once had in pro sports, its all about money for many players. U can't say that about Zack and JT tho, they stay right here even tho they could go elsewhere and make more, they have found there "pursuit of happiness" and it didn't involve them breaking the bank. Tho it is Lavar's right to get the biggest contract he can have, that defeats the whole purpose of why he got into football, which is passion for the game and winning. Nobody grows up saying I'm gonna make millions in the NFL, thats a dream. When u strap on that little league uniform at age 5 or 6, u are not saying I'm doing this to further my potential football business when i get older, c'mon man.
