With free agency starting at 12 a.m. Friday, teams and agents were down to the last 40 hours to get deals done. Perhaps that’s why Drew Rosenhaus, when reached by phone Wednesday, uttered only “I haven’t got time” before hanging up. Rosenhaus represents unsigned Dolphin safeties Yeremiah Bell and Ronaldo Hill. It has been widely reported that the Dolphins and Bell are close to a deal.

Awesome News!

that would be awesome then we can work on Goodman
Screw Crowder if he really think that there is a team that is going to pay him big money somewhere else go find them cause i don't see it happening

Not to ruin this good feeling, but Rosenhaus has numerous clients. He could have been ironing out a deal for any of them.
Although I certainly hope it was to sign Bell.

Man, I can only hope so. I considered signing Bell and Carey as top priorities for this off-season. I think that the Trifecta did as well.

it's all good news
would like to see Crowder get the nod on a return too
but think he'll prove too strong in free-agency for the dolphin budget

I think the FO gave Bell there final offer, he didn't except so they will go after Jim Leonhard with the Ravens. If he excepts that deal we sign him. I think Rosenhaus over played his hand on this one.

I would love for Bell to come back, but for the right price. With his injury history and the position he plays we have to be careful.

Goodman should be done already unless he is another one trying to break the bank.

I would love to have Bell back but if his agent is playing nice with our front office then... I trust the man upstairs.

I think Sean Jones, James Butler and Gibril Wilson would be the best "backup" options at SS. Thats a pretty good group to fall back on, which may explain why negotiations seem to be going slowly.

This looks to be a bit of speculation by Biggane. Shouldn't the title of the blog entry mention this significant news? Seems like he threw it in there like he was throwing some crap against the wall and hoping it sticks IMO.

Not to be too hard on YB, but the more I look at it, Sean Jones and Gibril Wilson would be upgrades over him. Not only are they younger, but they have shown a propensity to make big plays... And as much as we love Yeremiah, I compare his play to Channing Crowders in that they are both very good, but far from great.

This post is going to create a stir, I know, I'm just being objective. Not signing YB would not be the end of the world, so long as we can bring in one of these guys as his replacement (which I realize is far from a guarantee).

It's not just that Crowder's play is uninspiring, but also that his knees are basically hanging on by a thread (or in this case a cadaver ligament). You don't give a lot of guaranteed money to guys like that.

I think Y.Bell will have an even better year, being the second season after his Achilles tendon injury and a good solid off-season, training etc. I hope the deal gets signed soon!

WOW. Sorry, but DOES ANYONE know a thing about football here? I have heard many posters clamoring for Sean Jones over YB. Jones Is INCONSISTENT. We would have won less than 8 games if Jones was starting for us last year, yeesh.

How do you figure? Did YB win us three games?

He may be inconsistent, but the statistics show that he is a superior playmaker. And I'm not knocking YB, I'm just saying that he isnt necessarily the ideal candidate for a LT contract.
