MERGED: Dolphins cut Chad Johnson

It was the right decision to cut him. However I am not sure why anyone would think Hartline can contribute anytime soon. He hasnt ran one route, caught one ball, hasnt developed any timing with Tannehill (who IMO will be the starter) Hartline CANNOT be counted on. As it stands our number one and number 2 is Naanee and Wallace. A combo noone on this board should be comfortable with.
receivers:

Naanee
Hartline/Wallace
Bess
Wallace/Hartline
Pruitt
Cunningham or Gates (I'm guessing only 1 sticks)

I'm ok with this

He was a dolphin so I was going to support him, but I have to say I always thought it was a bad idea. He was not the kind of player that we as a team are trying to be IMO. This head butt may have been the best move Chad made for the dolphins all year. Good move Jeff and company, it was the only move.

I am not, but this is the best you can do right now. I think Ireland did a poor job putting the receiver roster together and Philbin thinking he can turn any receiver into a productive one is not wise. I think this team should have prioritized the receiver position more. I like the TE's and backs, but WR is very weak.

With as many holes as we had/have, you can't expect everything to be fixed in one offseason.

It was the right move and anything less would have made Philbie seem ineffectual.

Chad should never have been signed to begin with. Then his schtick in camp was ugly and beyond stupid.

Ireland should have never let this receiving core be so devoid of talent. It's ugly.

Grrreeeeaaaatttt???? lets just cut every player that makes a mistake. WR is already a pos that we suck at, and we continue to get rid of every wideout that has any talent. This is the first time Chad has had any issue off the field, but yet u guys are so in favor of going into the season with Brian Hartline as our #1

I mentioned in another thread that this decision had to be much easier because of the play of Wallace and Pruitt. Those guys are out there working their butts off and really earning spots. Wouldnt be fair to have to cut one of them for #85. This sets a standard in the locker room as well.

funny how condoms ruined their marriage. the last thing the planet needed from them was to procreate.

Dude only so much you can do in one offseason. No surprise this will be a huge focus next season for now we seemed to have upgraded in other areas.

Have you read the TC reports or did you watch the first preseason game? Guys like Nenee, Pruitt, and Wallace have been outstanding. Just because they dont have the big name Ocho does doesnt mean the position is weak.
