MERGED: Dolphins cut Chad Johnson

Coach Philbin just layed the hammer & sent a huge message to the entire roster. I like it.

Philbin was probably doing back flips when he found out Noshowcinco got arrested... gave him just enough reason to cut that worthless wannabee thug.

why is everyone bashing the receivers? wallace and pruitt looked pretty damn good to me, plus we drafted a couple.

Grrreeeeaaaatttt???? lets just cut every player that makes a mistake. WR is already a pos that we suck at, and we continue to get rid of every wideout that has any talent. This is the first time Chad has had any issue off the field, but yet u guys are so in favor of going into the season with Brian Hartline as our #1

You're going to be the same caliber of team without him that you were with him.

Art Monk had a pretty decent career... they might as well have just signed him to begin with..

Because we've been down this road before with them "looking good in camp" ..... until they actually do it when it counts, we have every reason to be concerned about the WR unit in it's current incarnation.

I watched the game. I like Roberto Wallace, but lets be honest it's preseason.

Right move. Hope the situation gets better for him, but I'm totally happy with the decision to cut him
This. I was one of the few who was pulling for him to make it on the team. But seeing as how they traded Marshall because of his off field antics then it is only right that they cut Johnson.

You feel good with Wallace as our number 2 against Houston, Oakland, Jets, and Arizona's secondaries the first 4 games of the season? Yeah, he looked great against 2's and 3's. Hopefully he can keep up the pace because as it looks Hartline will not be anywhere near the field anytime soon.

Right move from Philbin. Now we've gotta hope Hartline is ready to go Week 1.

Hopefully this will serve as a lesson to the rest of the players not to let their off the field antics jeapordize the spot on the team . There is a new sherriff in town who won't tolerate stuff like that.
