http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/a...rdinator/3c9f4f73-3adf-45a1-94c4-07691deebe3bJust nine days after creating a vacancy at their offensive coordinator position, the Miami Dolphins today hired former Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor as Mike Sherman’s successor.
One of three candidates interviewed for the job, Lazor brings with him an impressive background that includes having worked under the likes of Joe Gibbs, Mike Holmgren and Dan Reeves. He clearly left a strong impression on Head Coach Joe Philbin, who is entering his third year at the helm and came from a successful offensive system in Green Bay.
Thanks to his success with the Eagles and specifically with Foles, Lazor was highly sought after in recent weeks by other teams besides the Dolphins, but he chose to join Philbin’s staff. The 41-year-old former Cornell quarterback is seen as a rising star in the coaching profession.
Lazor’s hiring comes a little more than a week before the 2014 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., which leaves just enough time for him to get his ideas across about what type of players he likes on offense. From there, the NFL Scouting Combine is next on the horizon, so there is no doubt he will be hitting the ground running.

And @mortreport reports, Miami Dolphins have hired Eagles quarterback coach Bill Lazor as their new offensive coordinator.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10297301/miami-dolphins-hire-bill-lazor-new-offensive-coordinatorThe Miami Dolphins have hired Bill Lazor as offensive coordinator, league sources told ESPN Senior NFL Insider Chris Mortensen.
Lazor spent this season as the Philadelphia Eagles' quarterbacks coach.
The 41-year-old Lazor will replace Mike Sherman, who was fired following two seasons as the Dolphins' offensive coordinator.
Lazor did wonders with Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, who started the season as a backup and led Philadelphia to the playoffs and an NFC East title. Miami needs someone to work closely with starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who is entering an important third season.
