Well Gus is the only one thats been in this same offense the past 2 years, and he's our starting QB so it makes sense. I DO hope he gets benched if we're out of contention.

The players themselves voted Gus a team captain. Perhaps it is a good thing that they are recognizing his leadership role and rallying around him. I hope the team unity pays off in wins. If he plays awful and gets benched I'm sure the team will be able to handle a change in captains.

If you read my original post, im well aware the team voted for its captain. I said nothing to the nature about Saban nominating Captains.

My question is what happens when Gus isnt starting? And my other point was its kinda pathetic when you look up and down the offensive roster and there seems only one clear cut standout captain, and Im sure we all agree its Chambers.

My vote would have been for Randy. Despite his off field problems, if you recall last year he was ALWAYS fired up on offense and the only guy who didnt have his head down. Chambers IMO gave up on a few plays and Randy was the only player on offense who gave 100%.

I cant remember what game but Randy was on the sideline SCREAMING at his teammates. He had the fire in his eyes and he was pissed they were playing so poorly. There were 100 threads here after that game.

I would have voted for Chambers and McMichael.

the players elect the captains........so anyone on here who claims to know who should be the captains more so than the players themselves is a kidding themself. they are the players. they make up the team. you are the fan, who's opinion doesn't mean jack **** in this (along with mine).

Ummm, if you are talking about me, re-read my original post. I never claimed to know who the captains should be. I just said I would have picked a guy who is at least going to start every game. I offered my opinion, like you offered yours.
