MERGED: Dolphins Select Wright in 5th Round

yup, Pats fans have a subtle way of calling your team losers. We are more direct.

This coming from a bill fan, a fan who's team has lost more then any other AFC east team in the last 40 years. Once again, 9-7 an avg. season and they act like they did something special.....oh wait, for them it is!!

He missed the point again.

Usually some benchmark, most likely starts with a tackle. Remember in the Ricky trade his big year cost us extra draft position.

Agreed, but dont know what the benchmark was. All of GB's starting OL played every game last year if Im not mistaken.

Got back from work like an hour ago and hopped on diablo 2...just got off to check some news and wow what a move! God im so happy we got a damn good steal in this Wright kid for the lower 5th round...i hope he comes in and contributes right off the bat

I have to say I'm pleased with how the Phins handled this. The correctly judged that his value had dropped to that of a 5th round pick, and even got away with using the later of their 5th round picks on him.

I had no idea they had another 5th round pick either. If I had, I would have been suggesting they use that pick on him sooner. As it stands, I didn't officially take a 5th round stance on him until this morning. Had I known we had an extra 5th, I believe I would have been all for giving up the extra pick.

I try not to be a jerk, and I always give credit where it is due...

2010 just hates me because i call him out for bumping his lame thread.
 Can I be VP of that fan club? :rofl3:

Yes, I do. That includes any other team who wasn't willing to give up more than a 5th pick for Wright. Your team is more desperate obviously than any of those teams.

We need an LT more than we need a DT. We were the 2nd best D in the league. You guys were the 3oth(?) against the run. That makes your team desperate to get better. Saban wouldn't have even bothered, just like the more proven coaches in the league if he liked what he saw .

Yes, I agree that our need is more dire then yours, but your telling me that your team takes Wright in the 5th, and your are not happy? This guy like your QB has massive potential, and if he succeeds, you have yourself a star, if not, you lost a 5th round....not that big a deal. Even if Anderson ends up being a superstar, getting Wright would give you a very good backup. If you got this player, you would be ecstatic.

By the way, I have coined the definitive nickname for Wright in my just-posted commentary on the selection. The discussion page isn't active yet, but you can read the article.

Quick ??

how do you know which pick is late, and which is earlier? I mean, the draft order hasn't been set yet.

Negative on that.
Edwards will be the starter, you remember him don't you? (think fins @ bills, battle of the winless teams)

Why bother saying dumb **** like that? You know that Wright won't have much impact this season...it makes you look bad.

It was a joke losman, don't get bend out of shape. :D

watch out, Byroan won't appreciate that smack which happens to be very weak.

But you have to admit funny.

I remember reading somewhere that the Fins reps that went to his workout left early and that it wasn't a ploy to make them seem uninterested....It was that they really weren't interested....Sneaky Saban does it again.
