Greg Cote Sucks these guys at the paper make stories up just to have us read it. His reasons for us to take Ryan are worthless and he should be fired from the Herald. Why would we draft Ryan we cant play him right away because 1. he needs needs time to develop and 2 he will look like Beck did last year. Draft Jake Long and sure up the line with the first 2 rounds pick BPA in every round at a need position then we will have built the trenches and test Beck out. Then if he doesnt work out take a QB next year if we suck we will be in the top 10 and take one then.

Wow, I havent heard anything from Greg Cote..

Seriously, I thought he got fired after endorsing Ted Ginn to jeapordize his future by advising him to hold out.

I mean, this guy seriously has no class whatsoever.. None..

plain out and simple, Greg Cote is absolutely CORRECT. problem is, it ain't happening anyways. MIA needs a Matt Ryan, but they lack 3/5's of an OL so they have no choice but to draft JAKE LONG.

Plain out and simple, Greg Cote is absolutely a douchebag. Problem is, he's always been a douchebag. Greg Cote needs common sense, but lacks 5/5th's of a brain so he has no choice but to continue to be a douchebag

How do we lack 3/5 of OLINE dont you mean 2/5's We have Carey,Satele,Smiley all pretty good

So in "he sucks", I'm guessing you just don't agree with him? Actually, his reasons are fine, but it all comes down to this quote

"If the Dolphins do not believe Beck is their quarterback of the future, then they should be prepared this coming Saturday to make the biggest commitment to that position that this franchise has made in 25 years."
I can't disagree.

"Ryan is the draft's only consensus first-round QB pick, a certain top 10 choice and likely higher, and a franchise quarterback by the estimation of many. Oh, and he's better than Beck. Which is sort of important."
Other than then few Beck>Ryan posters, I can't disagree.

"Imperfections, remember? They're everywhere."
Yeah, every possible 1st overall has been picked apart on Finheaven.

"So amid all of this imperfection, all of these inherent gambles, why not at least take aim at the impact position where the upside is greatest?"

"The risk and reward at quarterback is greater. The cost is more, so the failure is magnified. But the upside is greater. What if Ryan turns out to be another Dan Marino or Peyton Manning? Potential risk is big, potential reward is bigger."
Certainly accurate, of course Cote is not in trouble if he is wrong.

Look, QB is the most important position. If they like Ryan and are not convinced about Beck, they need to take Ryan. My opinion, however, is that they go with Jake Long and see how Beck does this year.

I love Dan the Man, my favorite QB all time!, but how many superbowls did we win with him? You would consider him a good QB? Right? .....go TEAM!

my feeling on matt ryan is one word OVERRATED
