Miami’s “wildcat” formation might be about to get a little bit wilder.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the Dolphins are showing interest in trading for Cleveland Browns receiver/kick returner Joshua Cribbs.

Hmm.. interesting. Shows the dolphins are talking to teams, I feel a trade happening before the deadline. Dude is a hell of a returner though, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AFm4g1G03Q&feature=related

Cribbs would be a nice addition. I wonder what the asking price would be. He is strictly a punt/kick returner, so I wouldn't want to give up much for him. The Browns have a horrible team, so they may be up for getting say a mid to late round pick plus a player(Dotson? Walden?).

While we need some help on special teams, it may be better to just go with Ginn and if we do make a trade, go after a guy like Bowe.

This is great news!!! Cribbs is an absolute playmaker, and I don't think he would cost much in a trade since does little as a receiver.

Cribbs is a beast and the only viable threat on the entire Browns team... hes someone i dont think they'll give up easily

Well our 3rd round pick was Patrick Turner. A 3rd for Cribbs would be fine by me.

I would hope we could get a 3rd back via a trade before the draft.. Or at least a 4th.. But remember this is going to be an excellent and deep draft in 2010.. A 3rd is like a 2nd. And a 4th is like a 3rd in the next draft.

A lot of under-classmen are coming out in the next draft because of the new collective bargaining agreement in 2010 that will have a rookie wage scale.

Unless they see Cribbs helping a good deal on offense, I wouldn't trade more than a 4th or 5th. As, Grey mentioned, the upcoming draft looks stacked.

I think it would cost us at least a 3rd.. what is his knock as WR as I know he gets barely any playing time at WR?

Anybody ever think that this is to improve the ****y special team’s play and not the WildCat formation?
Agreed, this has more to do with the return game then the wildcat. The Dolphins have plenty of wildcat options(Brown, Ricky, White) to be interested in trading for another. It has to do with the fact that our main returner, Cobbs, was lost for the season and even when healthy the return game was not that great.

What's Cribbs going to do with our crappy blocking on returns anyway?

There's 4 or 5 guys in the face of the returner no matter who it is.

While we have plenty of Wldcat options adding Cribbs gives you another weapon for the Wildcat. You also have a guy you can use on end arounds and to stretch the field with Ginn.

how F'n sick would Cribbs be. Lightning quick strong and fast. Anytime you can take the best player off of someones team thats awesome.

Just find a way to get the ball in this guy's hands, KR, PR, Reverse, pitch, screen, direct snap, anything.
