good depth signing as there still is no definite #2 option behind Big Paul. I also agree that it is very possible that we could use a DLineman in a trade with another team to bring back a pick or packaged for a QB (Orton).

There isn't a legit NT behind Big Paul, so Fields familiarity with the defense and Nolan; makes perfect sense!!! I'm loving Nolan, I love the way he finds pieces to the defensive puzzle ... The Dolphins were bad in Coverage from the linebacker position and now they have 3 legit LB's who can cover, and lacked a true backup at NT and now Fields is signed .. he stayed with Will Allen knowing the nickel DB position needed a seasoned vet ... Love It!!! can't ask for anything more from a defensive stand point .. now only if Daboll can turn the offense into something, all DolFans can be proud of ...

it just goes to show, they got there running backs and henne and they fully plan on doing the same old things that buried us last year. they act like we are 90 mil under the cap!!
you want more defense? cut that pathetic WILL ALLEN and sign cromartie and weeken the jets, keep him from helping another afc east team and help shutting down plax and the pats wr's. this bunch just does not get it at all. that gives us depth, insurance should smith or vontae go down and trade bait for soething else that may come up, injured skill player, new qb, ammo for trading up for luck, etc....

we drafted 2 corners year before last because WILL ALLEN sucked so bad!!!!
now he is injured again and two years older. BAD MOVE and eating up money.
if fields had ANY true nose talent there are a zillion 3/4 teams who would have given a pick for him. this was just grasping at straws.

If i remember correctly The Dolphins lost 3 DB's to F/A 2 to Denver to be exact ... it was a conscious effort on the part of the F/O to take CB's in round 1 and 2 to replace the DB's lost to F/A .... as far as Fields is concerned, Nolan knows him from his days in SF and Denver .. made perfect sense to bring him to backup to Big Paul at NT .. Will Allen is a sorely underated DB .. may not make many INT's but is solid .. lets see what happens ...
