If you had the top pick in the draft (Green Bay, Minnesota, New Orleans, and Houston) would you take the [#8 pick (Projected Dolphins pick) and Ricky Williams] in exchange for the [#1 pick]?

Just wanted peoples opinions:

No, it wouldn't be enough. A future first rounder would have to be included in the deal.

it'd have to be two firsts and ricky williams. the #1 pick is pretty valuable this year

all of those teams need a RB next year except for NO and i don oif they woudl trade it due to Brooks prob leaving next year. I would trade RW 1st rounder and a 2nd next year in a HEART beat.

I think it will take at least two #1's picks -- more if none of the junior qb's come out. The Giants, I believe, gave up two #1's and a 3rd to get Eli Manning. It would be similar to move up for Leinart.

It is hypothetical (sp) as anything can happen between now and next April. What happens if Ronnie gets a life threatening injury over the next few weeks, then we would need Ricky and a trade would be out of the question. How many times do you see a team trade a player because they have two at that position that are quality, and within a few weeks the player that they have kept goes down. All to often (and please dont ask for examples cause I cant think of any right now)

sorry but in the NFL you dont thnk that way in certain positions especially of that one b/c then u prevent urself from becoming better in diff positions. You can't be afraid to make moves in the NFL or u'll never become good.

Guys let Leinart go, start looking hard at this kid Jay Cutler!!!

Heres the scouting report on him from Great Blue North

Cutler, Jay 6'4 225 Junior Vanderbilt #6
Excellent athlete, what a sleeper QB!, on his current team just does not have the blocking up front so he can setup in the pocket like he really wants, which slows down his progression as a QB, the talent around him does not rise to his level, which also stunts his growth as a QB, has nice ball handling skills, has quick setup abilities, durable athlete, also a QB willing to give up his body for every yard, he is a winner amongst a losing team, has a nice quick delivery, quick thinker, makes things happened, can throw on the run as well as in the pocket, he is versatile in or out of pocket, has the zip on the ball you are looking for, and accuracy, throws a nice catchable ball, nice touch, can also drill it in with some smoke if needed, just a one man offense, reminds me of a bigger more athletic "Jeff Garcia", also excellent conditioned athlete, when running he is very dangerous if he breaks containment, if only the talent around him was better, whomever drafts him will be getting a possible All-Pro QB in the NFL!, the good thing for some NFL team is they will be drafting this in a lower round due to very little coverage of this QB, and most scouts are scared to rate this player as a 1ST RD draft pick skilled player!, look at the skill not the hype!

Sounds good, so what do you guys think?

if cutler leads vanderbilt to a bowl game, and the dolphins finish about 7-9 or 8-8, and we're in the middle of the first round, we'll get cutler. mark it down folks

If Stanton declares I wouldnt cry if we drafted him, I love his ability to throw on the run!

so its all up to Rosco to bring hope here when i say that if we cant get brady quinn the we should get brad smith and i am telling you jokers that brad is a very good qb, plus his coach has undone the development of brad smith.
