MERGED: Dustin Keller Injury Thread

He is injury prone, but this has nothing to do with the injury that occurred tonight. He got hit hard on his knee and it bent badly. Him being more durable could not have prevented it. Its a freak injury.

I agree with you, but Keller just seems to have more freakish bad luck than anyone. My point being that Keller was a good signing because he changes the dynamic of the offense, and we're not the same without him. It would have been nice to have a young player with similar skills in the fold. After all, Keller is only on a 1-year deal.

His knee was bent in a very unnatural way. Is it possible nothing was torn? Is there a situation similar to this where this was the case?

Yup found one.

There you go... keller, Wolfe and Hopkins with very serious injuries today. I bet that at least 10 NFL starters will be done for the season before it starts, I really would like to know if playing your best players against hungry Kid´s trying to make an NFL team is worth something. it´s risky as hell. I hate preseason.

It's blow but,its not as bad as some are making it.

I thought he walked off the field on his own power ? from what i saw he did , but maybe there takin him bk just to make sure that there wasnt any extend to the injury .

If there was no pre-season, we would have come to play the Browns and look like we did against the Cowboys and a good chunk of the first quarter of the Jags game. The starters need as much time as possible to get it together, its almost a brand new offense we put out there this year. No Bush, no Fasano, added Mike Wallace, Gibson, Keller.....they need to practice against quality opponents before the season starts. Injuries happen, better you know about it early when you can still find viable replacements.....sucks to lose him (no word yet, but I expect it).

As far as some saying miami playing their starters too late. A lot of nfl teams play starters into mid or late second quarter. Dolphins needs the reps, hindsight is 20/20. plus injuries can and do happen during training camp, but players need the practice. I mean look at crabtree, he got injured in training camp, not a pre season game. It's unfortunates, but thats the nfl, injures do happen in practice and preseason. Oh yeah, I'm watching the seahawks and broncos game and they were still playing Russel Wilson late into the second quarter and a veteran like peyton manning played till mid 2nd quarter.

I think we can tell from Keller's reaction itself that the injury was a bad one. He knows what happened. He felt it.

it sucks, but we aren't the only ones to lose a player. keller has not exactly been durable throughout his career...though this is obviously more of a freak injury, life goes on.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I hope the league office reviews that cheap shot. Man this is going to hurt us badly --- we needed a strong seam threat to force more man to man coverage on our outside receivers.

I just wish Charles Clay could bust a seam. He's more of an intermediate route and sideline runner. Still a good player though.
