MERGED: DW upset with McMichael?

This is so stupid. Im glad Madison and McMichael yelled at the offense. Heck, I was screaming at the top of my lungs at the TV at Wade Smith and Feeley so it was good to see the players getting upset. SMad played an almost perfect game at CB and him and Poole basically shut down the Cincy offense. I would be ticked off too if the offensive line couldnt block for more than 2 seconds and AJ threw away 7 points costing them the game. The defense played incredible, so good that the team even had a chance at winning both games. If they didnt say anything, I would be more annoyed. McMike is turning into my fav player and it was good to see someone finally call out our POS offensive line.

This is exactly where wanny lacks. How can you get your players fired up or fuel them with emotion when you just stand there with your clipboard with that grin on your face. Even marvin lewis was talking to their offense and defense and yelling to get them to play good for one final series. It worked for Marvin. The winner of this game just needed 1 good series in the 4th. Marvin fired up his team and Wanny got upset when we tried to do the same.

His offense lacks aggression because of the low expectations he has placed on them. Him yelling at his players plays no roll in any of this. That kind of stuff is all just media fluff. There are good HC's who yell, and there are good HC's who don't.

Wanny didn't like seeing someone else doing the job he's supposed to be doing. He looked over and said, "Oh...THat's what I'm supposed to do when they don't play well."
Hell if he won't someone will! I can't even believe he's trying to downplay the situation and make it look like it was wrong to do that, when that offensive line needed nothing more than a good loud earful and a smack in the face for the way they were playing.

This has been covered already. He's not upset about the fire from the players; he's concerned about the throwing of the helmet. I think he's 100% correct. From a team standpoint if McM threw his helmet and he broke it he cannot go back into the game. We won't even talk about how throwing a helmet like he did could have hurt his team mates or even himself.

Get fired up, but leave the physical temper tantrums at home.

If a helmet is broken by throwing it on the grass. Then how would it hold up to defenders? These thing's arent made of eggshells. I don't think I could even break the mini helmet I have with anything short of a hammer.

I didnt see him say a SINGLE word to anyone on the Oline in Cincy's game. They showed Wise numerous times just standing there looking at pictures, then they showed the line sitting on the bench. Smith had the "WTF" am I doing here look on his face. He looked like he didnt care, he was getting paid anyways. If I was Randy, I would have probably smacked him to get him motivated. Something WANNY should be doing.

Its not "yelling", its calling them out and trying to fire them up for ONE series. All we needed was ONE sustained drive down the field. JUST ONE!

I agree with you on the good coaches who yell and good ones who dont, Wanny isnt a good coach who can afford not to yell and fire his players up.

He's upset about the helmet throwing. He's not upset about the fire. How would you feel if that helmet hurt someone, or if it broke when he threw it? It's not like every player has a replacement helmet on standby.

This comment from Wanny is friggin SPINELESS. If I was McMike I'd tell dave to STFU. I have always been one to follow my coach when I respected him...but I must say, if I were in the Dolphin players shoes I would listen to Wanny up till a certain point and then I'd say "F it". Wanny telling me not to have a sideline tirade when the team is playing like utter crap, and he stands around continuously running his hands through his hair and looking like a lost puppy, would warrant me to tell him to STFU.

My whole point is this is just immature crap. None of us know what this man does on the sidelines as far as him yelling and what he says to his players. I don't buy into this whole thing that Wanny is this emotionless type of HC. The media drives things like this, and we all know how the media can carry or destroy a subject depending on if they like the subject or not.

I'm not telling anyoneto like or to hate him, I just do not understand why ppl have to focus in on these personal issues. IMO it blurs the real issue and moots the voices of ppl who want to judge him on his actual performance as a HC.

Like it or not, Wanny has a valid point to complain about a player throwing a helmet on the ground. That kind of stuff is just an irrational thing to do that can only be negative in so many dif ways. I know if I was a player and McM threw a helmet on the floor and that thing hit me or came close to hitting me he'd have to fight it out with me at some point.

You know what?? I would be MUCH happier if he would do ANYTHING at all rather than just stand there like a cold little boy who's girlfriend just left him and bullies just took his lunch money. At least I'd know that he's actually out there trying to get the most from his team. Encouragement REAALY helps out sometimes. And so does discipline. At least we'd know that it's not that soft a$$ coach we got, it's the wack team that's out there. (right now it's both). If we on the stands are actually more pissed off than Wanny down there on the field, then there's a BIG, BIG problem already!
