Merged: ESPN- Arrington on Wake

i certainly hope he does. because we didnt grab a great olb in draft but i think we grabbed some depth there

Nothing we didn't already know.

We knew he had the athletic ability when he was at Penn State but other factors were missing. And we knew that he looked deep within himself to improve on those other aspects (like dedication and intensity) when he went to Canada to prove himself..

And that's all this article is really saying to us, yet again..

I don't remember exactly where, but I remember reading that Miami considered the addition of Wake as if they had an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder. So, if you want to look at it like that, you could say we added a 2nd round talent at OLB with Cameron Wake. Lets hope he plays like a 1st round talent though.

I think it would be very foolish to underestimate this kid. What he has accomplished is astounding.

This world does not allow this kind of thing often. There are powerful forces that oppose anyone attempting to make the kind of changes and turnaround that wake has made.

If he stays the course and continues his undistracted dedication the sky could is the limit. Just pray the money doesn't pull him off course.

It was informative, actually. It mentioned a couple of points:

1) Wake was highly recruited out of high school because of his outrageous athleticism; and

2) Joe Paterno was frustrated by his lack of motor. This explains why he is a late bloomer. The motivation/motor seemed to have kicked in. Maybe actually trying to work for a living did the trick.

Bottom line, it explains his progression and is not just a rah rah overview of his history.

cameron wake is our own James Harrison, oh yeah

It is interesting that Wake is supposedly scheduled to be competing with Roth as a strong side OLB. From everything that I have read he would seem to be a better fit on the weakside behind Porter similar to Harrison. How all the OLB's shake out is going to be interesting.

i agree, hopefully he'll turn into a stud pass rusher for us...

Profootball talk took this story directly from ESPN. Nice reporting profootball talk. Merge with ESPN Arrigton talks Wake thread I created earlier today.
