Not sure if anyone else saw this, I assume it went up because of the extra 10 mil we had to count because we had to pay extra incentives for how well we played. If we are $21.9 mil over the cap. We will have to release all the guys that have been talked about and still won't have much room. Also if the CBA isn't agreed upon it will make us alot tighter when trying to sign FAs. Read this article in respect to that.

If its harder for us to stretch out deals for guys like JT and Zach we are going to ahve a hard time signing anyone like Brees. I think we are going to be in trouble now, not trying to be a pessimist but our ability to sign FA's or keep our own guys is going to be very tough.

Wow this is annoying. Our GM and Saban said we will be fine and will be able to go after elite FAs.

Most of those incentives come along with players we know we will cut.. Jones, Howard, Seau, and so on. Id be more concerned with how this CBA NFL agreement is going..

Why do so many say that we are okay?

I don't know too much about the cap and how it works...I just listen to the cap "experts" on here and all I've been hearing during the season was how we would be able to get good free agents because of our "good" cap status at the end of the 2005 season...funny thing is...click on the link and we are the 2nd highest team OVER the cap? WTF is going on!!!

Go Fins!!!

I got a feeling they'll get it done. (not that my feeling means anything)
I think this up and down bull the NFL and players union is doing is part of both sides trying to intimidate. Like when Vikings say "they want to keep Culpepper" is MOST LIKELY just to see if they can get a draft pick for him by making a team think they have to trade for him.
Players Union: IF WE DONT GET A DEAL DONE and go into 2007uncapped, we'll NEVER agree to a cap again...<perfect example..

I assume that most of the cap experts were thinking that the CBA would be extended and the LTBE incentives wouldn't all be rushed to this year's cap. Remember, if the CBA had been extended, we would be fine. As it stands right now, no one knows.

it is my understanding that the hold-up (drama) revolves around the proposed changes to revenue sharing (read owners, not players)

miami is about 8 mil over the cap. cutting tebuckey jones saves 6 mil amd d. mcintosh saves 4.5 mil so those moves alone puts them under the cap. seau saves 2 mil, and there is no way that frerotte will be with the team with the cap number of almost 5 mil. some teams are already in better shape because they have already made cuts, but miami appears to be waiting until the last minute to see if a new CBA gets worked out

theres plenty of cap eating contracts that will be gone by next season... reports of us being well under the salary cap are not how we stand right now... but how we will stand once a lot o f the dead weight is removed...

I think no one expected anyone to fup the CBA, but looks like they did. Upshaw and Tags should take a bow, worthless mfers.

I think we all understand that there are pending cuts that will lower our cap number, what I don't understand is why the finheaven cap page has us at about 8 million over the cap and the ESPN pg has us at over 21 million over????

get ready for a rookie possibly starting this year.
