If there was a move the Dolphins could make to really make a push for the playoffs this year, a Faneca trade might just be IT.

Do you want him as a Dolphin?

What effect do you think he would have?

How much is he worth?

Is he worth a future 1st day draft pick.

IMO, he is more than worth what ever we would have to pay him if a deal could be done. He is as constant as the Northern Star. A perennial pro-bowler. He is light years beyond Liewenski or Toledo.

By trading Booker and cutting Daunte, over half his salary is covered right there if he gets what Steinbach and Deilman got.

This is exactly the kind of edge the Dolphins need to compete in the AFC east and defeat the AFC central teams we have to play this year.

Faneca equals 1st downs and fewer turnovers.

I say the Dolphins should pull out the stops and go after this opportunity with everything they have.

Good points.....deal Marty Booker and dump C-Pep and that's pretty much Faneca's salary. We should definitely make a play for him. I'd rather have Faneca over P.Kendall from the Jets.

a fantastic guard, but i wouldn't break the bank for him at this point in his career... what is your return on investment, 4-5 years? 2-3?

you know they'd demand a first-round pick for him...

Exactly. We've turned the corner on giving up draft picks for older players. And for one, I'm glad!!!!

2nd best guard in the league IMO, and we could probably get him for a 3rd.

I'd love to have him. Oh man, that would be awesome. But I don't think Pittsburgh will trade him straight up for M.Booker. If the price is right, sure, and yeah I agree with the above poster that finally the "get him at whatever it takes" days are over.

I'd do the deal for a 3rd. How many 3rds would get us a probowl performance for the next 4-5 years? And he could teach some of our young guys. I wouldn't break the bank and sell out Wanny style though.

I was thinking Hadnot or Toledo, Booker, and a third. Doesn't really hurt us now that we have four centers on the roster with Hadnot,Satele, Ingram, and Mormino. We were wanting to trade Booker anyway and a third for a probowl gaurd for the next three years.

I just think it would help our line and our team in many intangible ways as well.

Noone can say for absolute sure that it would be the difference maker we need but IMO there is probably nothing else possible at this time of year that would help the Dolphins more than an elite offensive lineman in the mix.

He wants to be a Cardinal. His former OL coach is the Cards OL coach.

Just walk away from this one.

I live in Phoenix and am slowly becoming somewhat of a Cardinal fan.

We all know that but the problem is, the Cardinals don't have any money left. They made a lot of moves and good ones I might add. So much so the offseason power rankings had them ahead of Seattle and San Francisco.

They couldn't pay Faneca this year and I don't see them being big free agent players next year, not after the moves they made this year. It may not be possible for them. Besides, Gandy is being projected as a gaurd for the Cardinals. Grimm went out and got his boys right away, and they drafted Levi Brown and are paying him the big dough as well.
