The Cowboys and Dolphins are reportedly discussing a trade that would send NT Jason Ferguson to Miami in exchange for undisclosed compensation.

We saw Cowboys, Dolphins and starting thinking McFadden, but Ferguson works for now. Acquiring the longtime Bill Parcells favorite would be a clear sign that Miami will use a 3-4 in 2008. Ferguson is expendable in Dallas with Jay Ratliff locked up and Tank Johnson under control through 2008.

if this happens why not include him in a swap of 1sts and their 2nd 1st? maybe that trade ISNT" goin to happen after all

How old is Ferguson ? Maybe Ferguson will be part of a trade for the First Round Pick. If the trade does happen I would expect it to happen soon so Dallascan lock up Mcfadden and he does hod out...

and i thoguht he was hittin the market neways? Maybe its for trent green lollll Bwaha

Jason Ferguson is 34 years old and only has 1 or 2 more years left in him. However, if we end up drafting a NT which we most likely will, Jason Ferguson's experience and leadership could end up having a priceless effect on the rookie.

we have Solai for taht NT spot and if we draft another we will have 2 youngins. who knows w/e helps our team is all i care about

Ferguson is a baller. You guys would be fortunate to land him. I wish we could get him back.

Why would we trade for a 31 year old NT coming off of an injury?

Because we don't have a starting nose tackle at present as Paul Solia hasn't established himself as a starting caliber NT. In order to play a 3-4 at all we will have to have someone to play NT to begin the season. NT's are in short supply and I don't think Parcells and Ireland want to pay a bunch to get one.

Ferguson is 33. He won't be 34 until late November. Not be an arse, just didn't want to add a year where it's not needed.

But, on a more poignant note, I'm more concerned about this whole "trade" thing. I hate trading picks for players. I hope this is like a "swap" of picks instead of a straight up trade.

Maybe this is part of something bigger.

Don't like it. The Dolphins need to add younger players, not older ones. They need to add players entering their prime, not past their prime.
