The Dolphins have agreed to terms with rookie offensive tackle Andrew Gardner, according to an NFL source.

Gardner, a sixth-round pick out of Georgia Tech, was a two-time All-ACC selection who played 48 straight games until he missed the final four last season because of surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Gardner (6-7, 304) was brought in to develop into a back-up on the left side to Jake Long.

Last weekend during mini-camp, Tony Sparano praised the physical play of back-up tackle Nate Garner, a second-year pro out of Arkansas.
The Dolphins have now signed two of their nine draft picks - Gardner and fifth-round selection John Nalbone, a tight end from Monmouth (N.J.).

He has all the size he needs. I hope it translates into the field. I heard nalbone was dropping some passes lately.

Hmmmm lots off peeps complaining about not addressing O-line depth this year. Gardner looks to be good fill in potential anywhere along the O-line.

Im one of the few that thinks our O-line is in pretty good shape. Im expecting Thomas to still start at RG. If not, we have enough guys to fill that hole IMO. I think Grove will pay huge dividends over Satele and make our RG whoever it is look much better than they did last yr.

More than that, Im praying for the good health of Jake Grove ALL YEAR, we need him bad....

Good news but I really don't see him making the final 53. I see Nate Garner beating him out and forcing Gardner to the practice squad for a year. JMO.
Good to see we are working on getting em in already. Time to get the big boys in now.

I think Gardner will make the roster. I see us possibly keep four tackles, and Garner would be the backup RT and Gardner the backup RT.

That is now two of our nine selections that are under contract. I have to think Folsom and Clemons will probably ink very soon.

Dolphins sign Andrew Gardner

Draft pick signs. Let's keep the ball rolling!:D
The Miami Dolphins signed offensive lineman Andrew Gardner.

The 6-6, 305-pound Gardner was the team's sixth-round selection in the 2009 draft. He was four-year starter at Georgia Tech and earned his second consecutive first-team All-ACC recognition in 2008. Gardner attended Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, GA.

I don't care who signs next so long as all of the rookies are still at headquarters lifting with the strength coaches, and as long as all of them are signed in time for rookies to report in to training camp.

Certainly a nice pick, but I hope Jake Grove is doing all he can to say healthy as well everyone. Very interested to know what people did with the break they had. Im glad they are working on the o-line. Give the Qb extra time and more space for the rb... just ask tom brady what a good o-line can do... he would say it would make people think your a good qb ha.
